NA Xmas party treats

Frozen pudding ice cream

I have a weakness for those Christmas wreath things made with marshmallow, cornflakes, etc.

I took club crackers, scooped a tsp of brown sugar on each, then wrapped each one up in a half slice of bacon that had been soaked for two hours in a cinnamon rum cream liqueur, baked for two hours at 250 degrees and brought them to my CFII's Christmas party this past Saturday. They went over well. I also brought a similar variety, but with parmesan cheese instead of brown sugar and no rum soaking on the bacon. Both were hits, but the sweet one that helped get you drunk was more so.

I just discovered these at a party and I am in freakin Heaven:

Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps White Chocolate & Peppermint Flavor.

Tastes like a pretzel covered in Mother's Iced Circus Animal Cookie coating sprinkled with peppermint laced crack.

Cheese & beer. Just like any day.

You advertising for Wisconsin?

I was TDY up to Volk Field years ago. Went to a bar w/ a Bama hat on. Owner sees me and says "I want that hat". FU I say. He says no I collect them. Had a whole bunch of hats from all over on a wall. Said he'd trade and to pick one out of the display case. Saw one that said "Wisconsin Land of Cheese and Beer Farts". That's the one I choose. :D

I am looking for something like Christmas crack cookies; they are so awesome you cannot stay away from the plate, you cannot eat just one; you want to stuff your pockets with them, you crave them.

Ooh, sausage balls!

---

At a party I went to a couple if weeks ago, they had little doohickeys, chicken, wrapped in bacon, and there was some jalapeño aspect, too. Sorry, I did not download any specifications or drawings, but they delighted the palate, I'll tell you!

Ooh, sausage balls!

Love me some sausage balls.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving is Baklava Sunday in my house. I make three trays of baklava for my family, the neighbors, and my and my wife's offices. It takes up pretty much the whole day.

This is a simple baklava, with sugar syrup only (no honey), and a light amount of cinnamon, with some lemon, but lots of nuts, it's one of the thicker baklavas you'll see.

It would be tough to turn down homemade baklava.

I go the other way (no, not like that) :) I'm just not a sweet fan. Homemade jalapeño poppers rock out loud. Full peppers slit open, stemmed and seeded stuffed with a cream and cheddar cheese blend, wrapped in bacon and baked. Not overly spicy without the seeds and stems, but a little kick....did I mention BACON

I was just about to add my like for poppers, but you beat me to it. When you add "little smokies" mini sausages inside and cook those on a smoker, they are called ABTs. I have no idea how they became called "Atomic Buffalo Turds".

These turned out pretty darned delectible, with minor modifications.
As did the pastry wrapped sausage.

Homemade Tom n Jerry mix, homemade eggnog, my world famous buttermilk pie. If we make it to my parents for Christmas then I get to have all her wonderful treats- fudge, peanut butter fudge, rum cake and her wonderful cream puffs with homemade nilla pudding to fill them with.

Made the Tom and Jerry mix as planned, turned out great and have a tub in the freezer for another day, the wife made cream puffs and homemade vanilla pudding for the puffs, they were fantastic! Now here is where it went wrong. The first batch of eggnog turned into vanilla pudding? So I tried a different recipe that tuned out decent but still more of a lumpy egg with milk fiasco, dumped it out.

Anyone have a decent eggnog recipe that works?

just buy the stuff off the shelf...it's pasteurized and no need to worry about listeria/campy/salmonella/ecoli or getting into the newspaper next week

You start with bourbon then you....

Nevermind. I never got past that first part.
