Used to be able to make a pdf fillable using any number of free downloadable (or even online) editors but just spent 15 minutes looking, seems like they are all monetized now.
pdf.com, pdfeditor, pdffiller, adobe, etc etc Once you get to the Save or Print stage, op - $ign up.

Know of any?

Libre Office Draw worked
A bit clunky but that’s ok given the price
Chris - i looked at that…. Didn’t like putting my docs online…. & I think that one asks for a CC#

Yeah, don’t put anything top secret there. No CC required though - I’ve been using it for years without even an account.

Very timely.

My paid copy of Acrobat 8 has been a challenge to keep running. And I haven't been able to get it to work with Windows 11. So I'm looking for a replacement.

I think my Acrobat 9 still works but I moved to paid Foxit several years ago.

That's $129 a year.... hope you do a LOT of PDF work.

The free version is ok except for the nag-ware and craptastic default option to use the paid version.

And Libre office is never the answer.

What makes you think I have an annual subscription to the current version?

But since you asked, yes, when I purchased a permanent PhantomPDF (before rebranding) six years ago to replace my then 12 year old Acrobat 9, I was definitely doing enough with the program to justify the business expense. Considering how much I still use it, probably could today if I felt the need to update.
