There are all kinds of rumors about people who worked the program being rehired. Blackbird 844 may fly again.

Did I miss it on govdeals?
Someone's preparing for the National Championship Air Races Roswell next year?

Gorgeous paint scheme. Looks 2001 A Space Odysseyesque...

Not trying to make this about anything other than the paint job, but I think a "white bird" would be pretty cool to see. Obviously not practical for a number of reasons.

If there is an opportunity to see the SR71 fly again I would be so excited. I grew up near Beal afb and seeing the blackbird fly is what made my love of planes happen.

They're going to have to re-start production of the JP-7 fuel the Blackbird required.

I drafted a response but decided it would be bad form for a mod to get warning points.

Nauga,
who is also self-serving
I'll be honest...If I get to see a Blackbird at OSH, I can look the other way from a little self-dealing...

First item is to get the drip pans to catch the leaks after each flight.

I wonder if it could run on normal JP-8 if you instituted some speed limitations?

First order of business is to (re)start producing the stuff that's going to leak, before and after.

Nauga,
who doesn't drip so much as ooze

We’ll know for sure if it emerges from the hangar with a gold paint scheme.

Why? Everyone is making the assumption this is a restart of the plane as it was when it last flew. With so little information, there is no way to guess what the intent it.

They could blend that in minutes at most refineries. Just LMK when, I'll get the Chem-E nerds upstairs going on it!
