I've been running the great Oneplus 10T phone on Mint Mobile for a couple years without issue. It recently updated to OxygenOS 15. Since that update 2 weeks ago my personal hotspot fails to provide internet to the connected laptop. I figured it was my phones recent update but there's more to the story.
Mint Mobile support said the problem was outages in my area and my phone being only partially compatible with their network. There are no outages so that was BS. My phone was partially compatible for all 2 years I have used it on Mint; it functioned perfectly until 2 weeks ago.
My wife also has a Oneplus 10T on Mint Mobile. Her personal hotspot continues to function without issue. The only difference between our phones is her 10T is the international version and mine is the US version. If I put her SIM card in my phone it's personal hotspot works perfectly. If I put my SIM in her phone it's personal hotspot fails to work.
I figured the problem was either my SIM was bad or a problem with Mint Mobile. I bought a new SIM and activated it but the personal hotspot problem continues unchanged with the new SIM. Tried resetting saved networks, powering on/off, airplane mode on/off, SIM on/off, nothing has helped. Numerous calls to Mint Mobile hasn't helped. Those calls resulted in getting frustrated, hung up on, transferred to Apple customer service despite it being an android... No one at Mint can tell me why my wifes SIM hotspot works in my phone or why my SIM hotspot fails to work in her phone.
I would buy a new phone but the 10T has specs rivaling the newest options: 16gb ram, 512 gb storage, 150 w charging ability, flat (not curved edge) screen. I use the hotspot frequently when away from home. At this point Mint will do nothing until I put the SIM in a phone they consider compatible (which is another issue as their compatible list is poor). I'm considering researching how to wipe the phone and roll back to OxygenOS 14.
Up til now, I have really liked Mint. Suggestions?
