MD369FF down Pinal County - 4 dead

A slackline is generally not a metal cable. Do you have information that it was in this instance? And a 2" cable of that length would probably weigh thousands of pounds.

More likely would be 2" wide nylon webbing.
I know nothing of the sport. I'm still skeptical cable cutters would 2" webbing even in the perfect scenario

Many moons ago I got to see this company's (https://www.deagel.com/Components/HELLAS/a001251) LIDAR in action. Tried to certify it in the US, but the FAA heard the word laser and it got nowhere.
It could spot cables and obstacles a long distance away, but direct (or reflected) sunlight caused a lot of false alerts. Blended a visual image with the laser returns.
Definitely too expensive for most private users, but neat technology.

Flightradar24 has the track. No altitude info but the track has them pointed right at Superior Muni. 600 feet AGL with canyons to either side seems pretty clear.
