What are the time-based MX recommendations for your average light plane?

I.e. mags 500 hrs, dry vac pump 1000 hrs, oil lines, etc

Each manufacture has their own recommendation but they are just that, unless the plane is used for hire.

type C hoses.....8 year replacement.

What is “type c?”

I get that; however, for planning purposes, those hours can get me a rough estimate as to when I should be prepared to do certain Mx. For instance, I just overhauled a mag and will be doing the other 3 by the end of the year (about 600 hrs on them). I just had a vacuum pump go bad at about 400 hrs, but the other SHOULD be good for at least a couple hundred more.

Need to review the logs to see when oil lines were replaced...

Not sure what other time-based recommendations there are (excluding engines, props, and true ADs).

Time based .... annual inspection and any AD requirements.

tom basically stated it in post 6. anything required on annual, life limited parts, and things set by an AD. the hose thing is a good example, the manufactures recommend 8 years on a type c hoses. an AD on piper oil hoses makes that mandatory on applicable aircraft. non-applicable aircraft it is a good idea, but not required. some mags have 500hr inspections set by an AD others its just a good thing to do.

the list of things really depends on the aircraft. some of the general things are:
vacuum filters
air filters
all flexible fuel and oil lines

bob

Need to actually dive the factory books for the broad range of things they specify. You might be suprized at the number of things that need attention bases soley on age since installation. We get to deal with stuff on occasion that is life limited.

Bought an airplane? Time to do MX.
Flew the airplane? Time to do MX.
Looked at the airplane in the hangar and didn’t fly it? Time to do MX.
Didn’t touch the airplane for six months in a hangar? Time to do MX.

What’d I miss?
