Jerry Wagner, what not to do.

He reminds me of this

He gets click$

If he flew 100% text book how much YouTube would he sell?

I think it’s a show

Had a black lab that was one of the best dogs I've ever owned. Once when my brother in law came over the dog went and laid down near him and would now & again look up at him and growl just a little bit. Soon enough my BIL asked, "what's wrong with that dog?' I said, "she knows something!" :yesnod:

Which is funny, because even strange cats and dogs just go nutso over my dad. No, he’s got no meat in his pockets, nor wears Eau de Filet…

"I dont trust a human who dislikes dogs but i'll trust a dog who dislikes a human"

Back nearly 20 years ago, I was back in New York visiting my mom with my dog - a rottie mix who was extremely happy and loved nearly everybody. But, because he was large and could look intimidating was sometimes disliked by people who didn't know better. I walked across the street to Starbucks and tied him to a parking meter (NYC custom, at least when parking meters still existed). Go inside, and as people are walking by he's just looking up with a happy face hoping to get pets.

Some homeless guy who was obviously drunk/high starts walking down the street and he starts jumping and barking, I thought he was going to pull the parking meter out of the ground. The guy turned around and decide to go to the other side of the street.

As I came outside with my coffee, a man waiting outside pushing a stroller asked me "Is that your dog?" I'm thinking he's going to tell me something about how my dog shouldn't be allowed here.

"Yes, he's my dog."

"Your dog is an excellent judge of character."

I still miss that dog.

We had a Doberman, she was very friendly (and about the stupidest dog I've known). I used to take her in my Jeep (no roof, no doors, no windows). When I went into a store I'd clip her lead to the seatbelt and leave the keys in the ignition.

First time I went to the GF's place, she warned me that her dog, a little one, would bark like crazy, might snap at me, etc. Well it barked when we went in, but didn't snap. I sat down on the sofa, the dog jumps on the sofa and climbed onto my lap, and just laid there. She said "you're a jerk". I said "I know. But the dog doesn't think so."

I'm happy he's helping out the dogs. I think dogs have the potential to make people better people.

I still can't help but feel like this moving dogs from state to state thing is some kind of scam.

Not really. It's more a matter of moving dogs from places with poor spay/neuter adherence and quick-trigger euthanasia policies to places where there is a higher likelihood of that dog getting adopted and appropriate care.

Still enables the problem IMO

Maybe. Not sure about enabling, any more than Freedom Aviation Network enables human trafficking.

More the difference between shrugging and watching it happen, and at least trying to help the situation where you can. Totally agree that it would be better to fix the problem at the root, but that's a much bigger and more complicated effort.

Our dog makes me a worse person, but that probably just reflects on me.

I got the dog to make me look better. She makes me look decent.

"She's so good!!"

I know, want a hug? Ask her, she'll give you a hug.

If she don't like you, there's a reason.

Mine likes me. Likes the wife better. I'm just sloppy seconds.

100%. Dogs reflect and magnify some of the best human qualities, like absolute loyalty.
That’s why a dog, not a woman, is man’s best friend. In evidence… Lock your gal and your dog in the trunk of your car on a hot summer day. When you open it an hour later, who’s going to be happy to see you? I rest my case.

I’d bet both are glad to see you at first. It’s what happens next…

:) Are you sure it's a dog? Maybe it's a heavily disguised cat? I'm pretty certain some cats spend a lot of effort interfering with the lives of humans.

I'll say this for cats: When my flying club got one, the rodent problem was cleared up in short order!

Dogs are slaves, cats are free citizens.

Never adopted or got a cat in my life. The three in our house just showed up and never left. The latest one (6 year ago) was in our back yard, took some hits in some fights with open wounds, etc. Grabbed him and took to the vet. Shaved the wounds, lots of antibiotics, vaccines, tested for what not, and "tutored". Brought home, released into the wild. He never left. Then about 4 years ago started loosing weight quickly. Took to vet, I asked to check blood sugar. So for the last 4 years he gets 2 units of insulin twice a day. Healthiest, spriest cat I've seen.

So yeah - no one adopts a cat. They just move in.
