Is the pilot shortage over

The previous 50 was most impacted by deregulation destroying the business models of old stalwarts like Pan Am and TWA.
There was more “before deregulation” in that 50 years than “after deregulation.”

But what constitutes “normal”? The last 25 years, or the 50 years prior?

I'll tell you what the next 10 years will look like, in 11 years.

Truthfully aviation as an industry is still very young, less than 100 years old as we know it today. You could maybe average the last 50 years and try to predict the future, but who knows what will be the next major change to impact the industry? New technology, new regulations, new travel trends, etc., could all change the industry in ways we can't predict.

From a job fair recently was told regionals won’t look at anyone under 2K-3K hours?
Generally speaking, there is a significant difference in the amount of effort required to train someone with 1500 hours vs 2500 hours, and they can start to be a little more selective again, so it wouldn’t surprise me.
