What's your opinion regarding Gulfstream girl (search POA if necessary) and her involvement in the Epstein situation?

Thristies. And thats why we can't have nice things....

As to marcinko (changed from marcinkova), she's a predator and unashamed opportunist, but skated on the original accomplice bit because Epstein bought everyone up from the DA on down. She's a terrible female role model in what is already a statistically small sample of female pilots. Shes largely a social media figure, rather than what I would consider a bona fide aviation professional, so her impact on pro circles is self-limiting. As long as she keeps her graft confined to outside aviation I don't care. Any time she circles in with the ATP angle ill call it out publicly. We don't need grifters tarnishing the profession any more than we already have.

I don't know a thing about her or anything about this 'scandal'. This is all news to me. Regardless, based on her external appearance, what I said stands true.

You can bet your sweet...well doesn’t matter anyway. She pleaded the 5 th on everything and got immunity at the expense of Epstein going to prison. She and the others are untouchable.

Good role model for young women though. If you’re a young, disadvantaged girl living in Slovkajovania, there’s hope that you too can one day fly a billion dollar business jet that begins with the letter G.

Since some recent high court decisions have effectively negated double jeopardy, the states are going after him.

It’s now a federal investigation though, so double jeopardy is out the window.

Actually, the recent court decision pretty much maintained the status quo on dual sovereignty. Since he only face trial on two instances of prostitution at the state level, the new allegations aren't likely to even need dual sovereignty as they are different acts. The issue is whether the "immunity" granted in 2006 applies here. Obviously, Epstein says it does. There was a federal action in February of this year to invalidate that immunity. The problem is that the AG at the time (another slimeball Acosta), agreed, in violation of federal law, to hide the agreement from the victims in the case. While the February action identified the errors, it stopped short of determining what the allowable ation would be.

You can bet given the law firm involved (Kirkland and Ellis), that there's a lot of GOP involvment in this case that was being intentionally suppressed.

Not that I’m a lawyer by any means, but if I were counsel for GG and somehow she gets implicated in all this, pull the victim card. Bought as a sex slave and forced to do these things as an employee. Get off the hook and get to keep your “Women in Aviation International” image. ;)

Unfortunately, that is not at all uncommon of the ultra-wealthy and politicians. Even the well-meaning are influenced by peer pressure at that level in society. Some of them get caught, and others get elected to public office or appointed to corporate boards.

With that said, there is a big difference between chasing tail and chasing *children*. And troubled children, at that. That isn’t sleazy, it’s downright evil, and that applies to everyone who knowingly helped him do it. It’s especially sad when you think about the fact that someone of Epstein’s stature could have easily used his wealth and influence to help those kids.

Not really. He skipped free 6 days a week.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/06/nyregion/jeffrey-epstein-arrested-sex-trafficking.html

He pleaded guilty to lesser state charges of soliciting prostitution, served 13 months in a county lockup and registered as a sex offender. His jail arrangement allowed him to get out of the Palm Beach County Stockade six days a week to work out of his office.

I saw a news report that Epstein's lawyers are claiming that his previous deal with prosecutors prevents the current case from going forward.

Of course, they do. The bad part is that there was a court decision ruling that the deal was intentionally illegally obtained. The decision stopped short as to whether that means that means to Epstein. Certainly, it bodes poorly for Acosta and the K&E scumbag who set this up. If it turns out that Epstein does have immunity, that still likely will result in a witchhunt. Since he's not subject to prosecution, he can't plead the fifth about conspirators. The part about giving his conspirators immunity is less clear cut.

After I wrote my post, I saw an interview with a former federal prosecutor who said that Epstein's immunity deal was specifically worded to apply only to cases brought by the Southern District of Florida.

Regarding Gulfstream Girl/Global Girl, it's hard for me to be too judgmental of things people do as teenagers. I recently watched a video of a talk given by Frank Abagnale (the "Catch me if You Can " guy), speaking about his life. I hadn't realized that he did his imposter spree as a teenager. After being locked up, he really turned his life around, and has since had a long career with the FBI. In his talk, he pointed out that at sixteen, you're really just a child, and that reminded me of some of the dumb stuff I did when I was that young.

I'm glad if aviation has helped her find something more meaningful to do with her life.

She was 24 at the time of being questioned for her involvement in luring underage girls into a sex trafficking ring. Kinda hard to let her off for that.

And honestly I don't care what her age is/was. People should not be allowed into society for behavior like that.

According to the Miami Herald, Epstein's underage sex activities were uncovered by police in 2005. She would have been 19 in that year.

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a penalty for her involvement. I'm just saying that I'm not going to be the one to "throw the first stone."

So, life in prison? Death penalty?

Hyperbole much? Nobody is saying death penalty, but def not effing immunity like she got out of the feds. No sympathy from me. She's an opportunist and an unindicted sexual predator, not a victim in my eyes. We don't need grifters like her cheapening what is already an easy set of aeronautical qualifications to attain on paper, never mind the moral hazard it represents for females who actually rely on pro piloting to put food on the table.
