My (Phillips x/c 20w/50) report was great except for
Flashpoint = short; N=>440°F
AI says the oil will hit flash @ abnormally low temp; degraded oil.

Do we have av experience with this value?

25hrs on the oil
TSIO-550-E running perfectly rop 150smoh

Not quite sure what you're looking for.
Did you compare the flashpoint value to its specification?
Does your analysis show percentage of fuel in sample?
How did your last 3 analysis compare to this one?

nvmd; the result "Short" actually means they did not have enough oil to perform the flashpoint test.
They were 'short' oil, lol.

If you didn’t send them enough, oh well. If they spilled or had to rerun some analyses, ask for a discount on this or the next run.

The flashpoint of new Phillips 20W50 is 455F. You are down 15 Degrees after 25 hours of use. I wouldn't consider that excessive. You may have a little bit of fuel dilution there, but that is to be expected as aviation engines run full rich part of the time, and depending on leaning practice may run ROP all the time. When you consider the flashpoint of 100LL avgas is -45F it doesn't take much to drop it a few degrees. I think you are good.

Not sure if your the "N=>440F" refers to your value based on a short sample or they are simply stating the "worry" limit.
For what it's worth:
- Over my last 6 oil analyses on Phillips XC 20W50 by Blackstone, Flashpoint ran 445-460. (worry for Phillips >430)
- The last 6 analyses on my previous engine running Aeroshell 15W50 ran 465-495 (worry for Aeroshell >440)

I am a rabid leaner.

N=normal!
I did not get a result because they claim they did not have enough sample.
All is good, idc about the flashpoint, it’s meaningless to me.
:)
