a bit if preface is in order. Our neighbors who are about the same age as my wife and I are an interesting family, they have four girls,8,4,3,2 and a son from a previous marriage who us 17.
The husband is in jail right now serving a month for trying to kill her with a knife while high in meth last summer. The wife has been working two full time jobs to keep them afloat since he was laid off this winter so my wife does daycare for the young girls a few days a week until the teenage son can be home from school.
I woke up last night around 2:15am and went out on the porch for a smoke, two sheriffs cars come pulling up to their house(right across the street from us) and they drag the teenage son out from the car and bring him in the house in handcuffs! I'm thinking, oh hoy here we go again! I go inside and back to bed. About twenty minutes later I hear some loud pops! I jump out of bed and look out the window. I know the teenager has a rifle but it is not supposed to be in the house because of the dads court orders. As I'm looking out the window I hear another pop, pop, pop! So I tell the wife to get up, right as I say that I see their oldest daughter running onto the porch screaming. I yell at the wife to call 911, I think there is shooting going on over their! I grab my 1911 and my coat and start making my way across the street. The daughter comes running out on the porch at sing screaming "mom, are you okay!" "Mom, mom!" I make my way over to their porch with my gun in hand thinking the worst has happened. As I get to the door I see the mom laying on top of the son, blood is everywhere. I open the door with gun in hand and announce myself. The mother turns to me with the most frightened look I have ever seen. Then I hear and see the law enforcement cars arriving outside, so I put up my gun and hold the door for them. They come right in and snatch the boy up and just carry him into the squad car.
It turns out that the kid had tried leaving gain after having just been arrested for a DUI and the mom stopped him, he was absolutely wasted drunk and most likely on drugs as well and he started smashing his head into the walls by the front door of the house. That was the gunshots I had heard from across the street! So now the son will be taken the 200 miles to Billings to be placed into a juvenile facility.
It is never a dull day!
This has been another case from the clown files brought to you by your good friend Buford T. Justice.
