In n out burger

In-N-out my not be nirvana, but I sure do enjoy a double double animal style when I visit Cali.

But if you walk South on Sepulveda you will come to a Habit Burger a couple of blocks down. Not that I would suggest that anyone fly in to LAX for a meal.
(went to the El Segundo Habit Burger a couple of times dropping off or picking up kids at LAX). Long ago a friend and I flew in to Hawthorne, and ate at the
cafe on the field.

A&W’s for the slam dunk win on the best fast-ish food burgers, and if your lucky and they have a chicken broaster at that location it’s definitely worth the twenty minute wait. (The really good locations make their own root beer on site served in frosted mugs). They are getting harder to find though.
 
Got some on my layover at LAX this week. Haven’t had it in a few years. Did not disappoint!

I noticed that Vacaville was on the list. Of course, hitting every branch of an iconic fast food chain by aircraft is a lofty goal (you see what I did there), there are several better places within a much shorter walk from Nut Tree airport like Habit Burger, and Buckhorn Grill. I often stop by there for lunch on my way back from the coast.
 
@GMascelli, my wife and I will have to give that a try (when we get home).

For the next eight weeks we'll be hitting River City Cafe in Myrtle Beach for a great burger. They have a lot of other things, too, but the burgers are excellent. That's my burger-n-a-beer place for now. Free peanuts, too, while waiting...

I agree, For me In N Out was a disappointment after all the hype when I finally had them. I tried them in several locations over the years hoping for something special. I never found anything special about them.
I did get some cool tie shirts from them over the years. My wife lived in California for 20 years so I received numerous ties from In N Out over the years.

Huh? I've been to a bunch of Five Guys and never had to put anything of my own on. Just gotta choose it when you order and the burger arrives fully assembled.

It's not as good of a burger as some others, but still good. I like to eat the free peanuts while I'm waiting and I like how they tell you where their stuff came from.

Yes! When I go there, I do cajun fries, get a side of mayo and mix in some malt vinegar with the mayo and dip them in that. An excellent flavor that's hard to replicate anywhere else.

I do think that Culver's is the best of the "better burger" chains though. A Butter Burger's a better burger! :D And they have more non-burger stuff available than the others. Bonus points for having hot pretzel bites as a side and a ton of shake flavors.
 
There is an In-n-Out rather close to Reid-Hillview in San Jose.

It might have been the particular location. I did order my burger to eat in, and with mustard and mayo. What I got was a couple burgers wrapped in foil in a paper bag, along with packets of mustard and ketchup. Everything was kind of shriveled up inside the foil.

That's very atypical of what I've experience at 5 Guys. They're my go-to when the boys want a burger and we're on that side of town. Rarely leave there hungry.
