I got you all beat. A nurse in my family told the story of a woman that was in the maternity ward after giving birth to a baby girl. The new mother was young and rather uneducated. At some point the mother picked up on the word “placenta” from the medical staff and thought it sounded pretty. Yes, there is some poor woman out there named Placenta.

I saw her. Her middle name should have be Exquisite, her first name should have been "Notso."

A friend of mine married a stripper whose stage name was Mercedes and they gave their daughter that name. Not a bad name in and of itself but knowing the source of the name ... smh.

GF substitute teaches. One student's name was Espn. Pronounced espin.

Ex-wife and I liked the name of Connor, asked friends for middle name suggestions. 1 friend (single) suggested Pantsoff. I liked it, Ex-wife not so much. lol. Went with Charles.

Major Major was fiction, but there was a guy who had the first name of General. Of course, this caused a bit of confusion when he became an army officer. Lt. General Smith gets a lot more attention than a second looey usually gets. He got knocked down a bit when he got promoted to Major (I've never understood why a major is superior to a lieutenant, but a lt. general is superior to a major general). It's right up there with the lower half of the rear admiral.

I had a dentist named Payne. He had a real dry sense of humor. He would come at me holding the needle and his hand would be shaking...... type stuff.

The only thing that really bothered me was when he would be working on my teeth, then say.....ooops...did you feel that.??

I was working at the Pentagon doing some network tasks for the Air Force (for a brief time I was "ron@HQ.AF.MIL." Now that was an impressive email). My coworker took down the name of the guy we had to contact to get hostnames registered. It was "Major Payne." He hadn't even noticed what he wrote. I knew then it would be a major pain to get the names registered.

Heard of a guy named Warren Peace. Had a CFI at a FIRC once named Catherine Fish. Went by Cat Fish. I think she married into that last name.
    Also:
This one takes place around the late 1970s where a lot of children of hippie parents were starting school...

The school had asked all of the parents to send their kids to class with a name tag. As the children arrived to school on their first day, the teacher greeted each shining face by the door. Sunbeam, Rainbow, Butterfly, Jewel, Skye and many more until the last student, a shy boy with the name tag "Fruit Stand". The teacher considered this name a little odd, but with the times and all of the other strange names, she smiled and assigned him a seat.

Throughout the day, the teacher went around the room asking each student questions about themselves, asking them to solve a problem on the board or casually engaging them with the rest of the class. The teacher worked a bit harder with little Fruit Stand because he seemed to give her a strange look every time she called his name and was very shy when asked to do anything or speak in front of the class.

At the end of the day, the teacher was to send off each student to a specific location their parents had written down on the back of their name tags to meet the school bus to go home. When she got to little Fruit Stand, she flipped over his name tag and saw the word: "Anthony".

I would make a terrible CEO. If I were Southwest I would not have apologized, my press release, in its entirety would simply say "excuse me ma'am.. give your kid a stupid name that's on you.. pitiful" .. it's honestly borderline abusive

Do you think her brother's name is Fghij ?

Some parent(s) think giving their kid a unique name will make them a unique person.... but sometimes I think people just want to have a reason for a law suit.

We practiced yelling each name under consideration.
"Can I yell this across the block so they hear me?"
Can I yell just the first name and sound effective?
Does the first, middle, last allow enough bellowing that I get through to them?" :)

Cloudy Day. . .I got schooled on that one - apparently you can use any name you want, as long as it's not for purposes of fraud - no need to have it "legally" changed. Just start using it. Potential recruit decided he was now "Cloudy", vice whatever his birth certificate said (can't remember now - I don't think it was Sonny, though).

Legal said accomodate him - just have him populate the "Other nsmes you have used" boxes. He failed the physical as I recall.
