How to find _______ aircraft services in your area

In the past anytime I need to locate aircraft related services in my area I have just had to ask around. By services I am referring to a&p, avionics guy, aircraft painting, etc you name it.
Is there a better way to locate such services?
 
I'd put something like....."Need Lancair Painting in NE Tenn"....in the the thread title.

Perhaps I will start another thread for that. I also need an avionics guy to cert the transponder I will be installing soon. So this thread was intended to see if there was any sort of directory for such folks like exists for cfi's.
 
West Star Aviation in Chattanooga. That's the closest place I know about

there is no one website that does what you want....

I'd try airnav.com for airports close by....and checkout the services by each FBO and read the comments.

It's just as easy though to ask here....IMHO.

...and you'll likely get opinions too. :yikes:
 
If you call nearby FBOs and airports, they may have some suggestions, too. Especially if they have folks on field.
 
FWIW, in the A/FD information in WingX Pro 7, there is a 'Business-1' tab that has information for the aviation related businesses at an airport and a 'Business-2' tab that has other businesses like hotels, resturants, attractions, car rentals and etc. for the selected airport.
 
Google search what you need ,slash aviation. Sometimes air nav will work. This blog can be of help .
