Governor loves his single engine Cessna

"A half century old plane" what kind of crazy man is this?!

WTG Vermont!

Can you imagine the savings to the taxpayer and the environment if we could get all the politicians traveling in piston singles.... or even light twins instead of bizjets?

I recall one day during my helicopter training in NH a nice little lady landed in her Cessna 150 and taxied to our ramp. The school owner told me she is a Vermont State Senator (I think) who flies over regularly in her Cessna to take heli lessons.
I think Vermont rocks!

Love it ,good transportation,at a reasonable price to the tax payer.

I don't even mind the bizjets so much, what bothers me is the President's 747 and entourage that follows, or the other commercial jets that are used for transport of higher ups within our government. The 757 typically used for the VP, for example. I had thought Nanci Pelosi was regularly flown back to California in a 757, as well. I've long said "Let the President fly around in a Gulfstream like a normal rich person."

Considering the size of most states, the time difference that it takes to get from one end of the sate to another in a Cessna 172 versus a jet is not significant enough to warrant the jet and its costs.

When your state is 80 miles wide and 160 miles long, a 182 is all you need.

The picture is not a 1960 model. Should be a fastback but other than that...good on him.

50 years ago is 1966 however. About the time the rear window Cessnas came out.

Yep, as SkyDog58 said, it's a '62 182E, the first year of the rear windows on the 182. Only the '62 and '63 had that particular window style, with a two-piece rear window. Then the '64 182G brought out the single-piece rear window, same as on the current 182T.
