I really don't know why. Usually when I want to abuse my stomach I go to Popeye's, but it's hard to get close to the place with this chicken sandwich infatuation that's going on now.

There was a time when I liked Taco Bell, but either my tastes have improved or their food has gotten worse.

I think their food has been consistently crappy for as long as I've been alive. I think your taste has improved.

That said I've been known to have a Taco Bell craving from time to time. Usually alcohol is involved. :)

Wrong sex, too old, had an operation, so no. Never heard of a pregnant woman who craved Taco Bell. When she was expecting, my wife used to send me out for pie.

Taco Bell is a great substitute for ex-lax. Haven’t eaten there in years.

When I’m in mood for Taco Bell it’s usually because I’m in the mood for hot sauce.

They are putting one in right down the road from our office. I like it. Is it great food? Nope. But where else am I going to get some crunchy tacos quickly for lunch?

Back in the starving student days, I'd get huge cravings for Taco Bell burritos.

But I also drank Thunderbird and Zima.

The thing about Taco Bell is that we have so many really great Mexican mini chain fast food places here that Taco Bell is really a waste of time and gastronomic effort. I can get an actual carne asada, or carnitas burrito that is entirely meat and guacamole, three times the size of TB's largest, for about the same price.

I can't fault Taco Bell to much our local ones employ my former instructor and DPE flying a C-425 for them.
Not mention they buy me lunch pretty regularly.

Last I knew, they didn't use pink slime...
    They used heart meat.
    Cheaper, rarely used..

    Put enough sauce on it....

Here in Maryland, far from the Southwest, we have a traditional Mexican Restaurant that was originally owned by immigrant family from Mexico. I first ate there 60+ years ago. They have been continuously famous for authentic Mexican food.

The clientele is nearly all non Mexican, mostly white.

Two miles away, the clientele at the Taco Bell is about half Latino, and a quarter colored but English speaking. I have been in there when my wife and I were the only customers speaking English. 3 other Taco Bells are much the same.

There are a number of recently opened Latino places, I hesitate to call them restaurants. They are in store fronts, all the equipment seems to have been salvaged from somebody's rehab. The visible part of the kitchens is so messy that my wife will not stay and order anything. Clientele there is universally Latino in work clothes, and the list of items is first in Spanish, with details, then English, with out details.

Spanish speaking customers in other fast food places seem to be well in the minority. Taco Bell seems to be the winner in the Latino population for big name chains.

One day during my hang gliding training, I went and did the training hills in the morning, and had scheduled an aerotow tandem that evening, so I went to Taco Bell and ate more than I should have. On the first tandem, the instructor wrapped us up pretty hard in a turn and I could feel that Taco Bell food talking to me. Nothing so desperate as @OkieFlyer described, but I was a little queasy once we got to the ground.

I've found it funny all the outrage over pink slime and "fake meat" years ago, and yet Burger King is touting their "fake" Impossible Whopper today. If you read into it, the "meat" in the new BK burger was created in a lab with with all kinds of plant extracts, additives, and seasonings, and is actually less healthy than real beef.

Skip Taco Bell ... do a Chipotle instead .. you will still fell dirty and it will be cheap and quick but at least they sell food that is somewhat recognizable ...
