Garmin GFC 500 autopilot

I’m looking very serious at this install in my 182. Anyone have experience with it?

Our club is also considering it. Our digital Chelton AP-3C does the job, but is showing its age and has become a tech service orphan.

I installed the dual G5s myself and had a dealer finish up the autopilot.

We installed dual G5's and an Avidyne 440 along with the GFC 500 in our 182H. Its an incredible combination. I only have about 5 hours with the setup right now but I have to say the autopilot has performed flawlessly. I'm finishing up my IR training now and the amount of work it takes off of single pilot IFR is ridiculous. I have flown an RNAV and ILS to minimums with the autopilot and it captured the localizer and glideslope perfectly. Highly recommended.
