ForeFlight question, what do you use and why on the bottom instrument strip
Note:
(You turn it "on" the bottom instrument strip in ForeFlight by pressing the top button to the right of the heads up display button)
On the bottom ribbon strip from left to right
I have in slot 1 the nearest airport, which gives my relative position from the nearest airport. I use it when I make my call for flight following to give ATC my exact position or you can also use it to look for an airport in an emergency
In slot 2, I have Bearing Next, I use it to help navigate to my next waypoint during my vfr flight.
In slot 3, I have Distance to Next way point
In slot 4, I have Course Next, which gives me the desired course to the next waypoint. I have not found much difference between the Bearing Next and the Course Next data.
I am not sure what the difference is, at first I thought it would give me the new change in direction to the next waypoint before I got there, but it does not seem to be doing that.
I am thinking about changing it to something more helpful, like ETA to the next destination waypoint.
In slot 5, I have Cross Track Error, side distance from current leg in NM. It helps me stay on course
In slot 6, I have ETA destination, to give me an overall time of arrival.
I am trying not to repeat data that is in the heads up display.
What does everyone else use and why?
