Gonna fly IFR into Dulles tomorrow and looks pretty straightforward except I’m headed to Atlantic fbo so the runway I land on seems important. I’ve done my SFRA training a while ago and since I’m on IFR not sure much else to do with that. Any advise from others flying GA into KIAD? Btw signature at KIAD is 330 bucks to park!

dont need to do the SFRA if you're flying under IFR. Though cant hurt. Its pretty easy. Just fly in. Yes, depending upon runway, you might feel like you are taxiing from Baltimore to the FBO. Try and get 19C/1C as thats closest to the fbos if I remember correctly. 1L/19R is a long haul :)

You think parking is steep, wait ’til you see what you’ll be paying for fuel. Hopefully someone else with deep pockets is picking up the tab.

Atlantic is at the approach end of 19C; Signature at the approach end of 19L. Potomac TRACON will get you where you want to go if you let them know early enough in the approach. Crunch times are around 0700-0830, noon-ish, and 1400-1700 for international arrivals, with the latter the busiest. 19R/1L is usually only brought online for afternoon arrivals if capacity requires. 30 used almost exclusively for departures.

KHEF or KJYO certainly much cheaper options but I assume like in real estate, location is king.

Very easy. Been there over a dozen times. Keep your speed up on final and you’ll be good to go.

last time i was in there it was easy as can be, they gave me priority handling and met me with a bunch of cool yellow trucks with flashing lights on them......

I was based at IAD for years and have been back in there when convenient. Most of the time I do it VFR. Don't forget the SFRA procedures which really if you're going into IAD, are pretty easy. File the plan and call approach (you need class B clearance anyhow). Don't be an idiot on the air and PCT will let you in straight away. Avoid the pushes if you don't like holding.

If the airport is operating in the opposite direction from where you are arriving, expect to fly a wide downwind east of the airport.

Keep your speed up. The first turnoff (unless you're flying into honking headwinds) is 4500 down the runway so touch down at 2000' and turn off on the high speed.
