I did a bad job describing what I saw. I went into an existing restaurant at SIK to amend the information. When I hit “update “ I received this error: Whitelabel Error Page This application has no explicit mapping for /error, so you are seeing this as a fallback. Sun Mar 26 12:57:56 EDT 2023 There was an unexpected error (type=Internal Server Error, status=500).
weird, I'm able to edit a few (which I don't like that people can edit other people's posts) but when I try to edit the one you mentioned at SIK I get the same error.
@Initial Fix , @eman1200 , are you guys talking about Lambert's Cafe @SIK? Is it open or closed? Someone saved it in FlightsForBites.com as closed, but, google maps would indicate it's open. I can see there being a possible logic error if you try to update a restaurant which is closed, or was once noted as closed, other than to mark it as now open, like what happened with BQ1. @eman1200 , you're nothing if not consistent! I'm happy to create a moderators interface if people want to sign up to patrol content. Until then, we all can delete inappropriate content. I really don't think anyone will delete your hookers and blow pictures so have at it!
Gotcha. There's definitely a bug. The restaurant was marked closed which I fixed. I was able to add and delete a new comment. I was not able to edit an existing comment. Very strange. I need time to research.
Hopefully I addressed your issue. Users can now edit all existing comments. That said, if you're trying to add information, feel free to add an additional comment to a restaurant. Editing an existing comment should be a rare thing. I only implemented it to **** off @eman1200 . In August FlightsForBites.com will be one year old. I added a "Life" counter at the top in preparation for that Someone earlier reported not being able to save a Google Maps link. I thought I noted the problem URL but cannot put my hands on it. Right now, the site only accepts URLs that start with https://www.google.com/maps and https://goo.gl/maps Please let me know if there's another URL pattern the site should accept.
I would really suggest that only Admins be able to edit comments other than their own. If you want to add info or correct info, post as another comment. Maybe allow sub comments (comments on comments)
The only admin is me and I'm lazy The idea of not editing existing comments is probably the way to go. Comment volume is pretty low, so, them piling up, in the short term, shouldn't be a problem. Where in Maryland are you? I grew up on the Potomac/Bethesda/Rockville area.
The only reason I would edit would be for serious issues. I did high school at Springbrook. Was a cadet with BCC Squadron CAP. My dad still lives in Coleville area. I am in Harford County.
Excellent. I'm not familiar with Colesville. I briefly dated a girl from Laurel but it didn't work out as she was too far away
Suggestion for a slight enhancement. Make the distance choice a min and max. So say I want a place between 150 and 250 nm from my field. Or a distance and a plus/minus of that distance. BTW, added two new airports/restaurants over the last week. N27 and KBTP.
1-2X/month I see an error in the logs which I cannot explain. Please let me know what you searched for and what device and browser you used.
I can see how this would be helpful as the number of restaurants in the DB grows. I'll add it to the feature list. Until then, since miles is displayed on results, users can just ignore restaurants closer than they want.
