There's one for sale on Barnstormers right now for 39K. But I don't think there's enough here to know whether or not it's complete.

Do you have an engine? What's an 0-200 or o-230 cost?
Avionics? Do you have all the instruments?
98% complete for them might mean 500 hours for you.
Can you legally comply with the builder requirements? If you get asked about the airframe, can you intelligently respond to it?
And what is your time worth? There is still a significant amount of time left.

Could you complete it for less money than 39K? Probably. But like every almost other homebuilt, build it because you like to build, not because you think you'll make money on the airplane.

With basic VFR avionics and steam gauges. And, if you could get a good deal on an engine and prop. I haven't seen too many mid-time 0-200s for sale lately.

What's the old saying: "90% complete, 90% to go."

I built half of a Vari-EZE back in the 80s. This plane is about 20-25% complete. Unless you get a free engine and prop, you're far better off finding one that's completed. Still many, many man-hours away from first flight, and many thousands of dollars.
