So I went to the doctor today to get my xrays and progress report done. Turns out I'm pretty much healed! What does that mean?

A few more weeks in a cast most likely, possibly a month, but not December like originally planned! I really cannot wait to start rehab, I know its going to suck, but its the last few steps before I can put this whole mess behind me.

So my goal (unlikely as it is): I want to ride my motorcycle once before the snow comes. Just once. *crosses fingers*

Doctor says I'll either have no arm hair or really really thick, dark arm hair. Just what I needed....more hair. LOL.
 
Are you as tired of doctors this year as I am? Great news, hope you get the cast off early.

Good news on two fronts, you get rid of the annoyance of casts quicker, and the less time you spend in the casts, the easier and quicker the rehab.

Well, no.

The good news is, it wasn't a car.

The bad news is, y'all might as well stop with the well wishes on here. Nick got suspended from the board yesterday :mad: and has asked for his account to be deleted. :(

Well... There was an implied personal attack in a thread. So Nick got suspended.

The person who said something much worse than Nick and deleted it several hours later, did not.

The person who quoted Nick's entire thing and said nothing more than that he agreed with Nick, did not.

The low-time PoAer who Nick was responding to, who offended me more than anyone has on this board in quite some time, did not.

One of the above was me. Yeah, Nick is, shall we say, "unfiltered" sometimes, but that's what makes Nick Nick, and he's a valued member of the PoA family. Such unequal "sentencing" further affirms my belief that when certain members of the MC have their own personal dislikes, they should recuse themselves from the proceedings on an issue rather than have the rules and penalties unevenly applied. I also think that the "family" aspect of PoA is negatively impacted when a long-time member is treated in this manner.

Holly cow. Ray attacks me in a thread that leads to the entire SZ being turned off and gets nothing, the post is not even erased when the SZ comes back even though it is one of the most foul posts ever on this board. Another PoAer gets suspended for saying much less when he slipped up several months ago. And Nick gets suspend for a little nothing? Something appears to be rotten in Denmark to be sure! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

These are the things boycots are made of. I do not know the circumstances of the conflict, but assuming a junior poster antagonized or somehow otherwise provoked Nick, I think I'll go ahead and hoist the BS flag that Nick took the brunt of the mods action on the whole deal.

One hopes he comes back. I would like to see what he wrote that got him suspended, I always like to see both sides.

Third/fouth. Nick getting suspended is absurd. What he said is no worse than what I said, nevermind what Kent pointed out.

Nick's suspension needs to be reversed immediately. The MC ought to apologize to him for making a rash and incorrect decision. Then, we can hope that he will return.

In fairness to the MC, it was a threat, reading it literally. Now, we know Nick, and can read between the lines, but MC has to take it at face value. I don't know what the other dude posted and deleted, but it gets back to something someone else proposed during the great Spin Zone Blackout of '08 -- maybe poster and postee should both get suspended during review? A little MC counseling then everyone moves on? Of course, it's not like MC members have real jobs, that pay real money, so they can pay their real bills, that require more of their attention.

I have faith that this will all get worked out equitably. Lessons will be learned, life will go on.

Where do you get that from? That is not a threat. A threat would've been "If I ever meet you face to face I'll beat the cra out of you..." and the context of what Nick said is really no different than what I later said. I just don't see it.

I have less faith than you, but life will go on. In fairness, I've yet to come across a management anything that I have found to ever make decisions I can agree with.
 
OK, I had to go back (and the only version of Nick's post is now in a quote) and recall what this was about. I wouldn't characterize Nick's post as a threat, and given what provoked it, I wouldn't even be upset with him for posting it. The person who caused it was WRONG and Nick responded. Maybe a little strongly, but correctly. It's time for him to come back.
 
Sorry, I misspoke (miswrote). It was threatening. Not a direct threat. Ted and Ghery, I agree with both of you. But....

Remember that MC has that court decision (from another board, but courtesy of one of our illustrious now-banned members) looming over its collective head every time something like this comes up. I don't blame them for erring on the side of caution.
