End Of The World Coming 12/21/2012

The Mayans have just released their 2013 calendars. This one's titled "The girls of Chichen Itza. Bunch of scantily clothed partially obese women climbing steep stairs.

How long did it take you to come up with that? :dunno:

Crap, I keep forgetting the world is going to end in a few days. So many things I could be doing now.

They simply ran out of room on the stone they were chiseling on at this particular date;but if you happen to be a believer and have an airplane you don't think you'll be needing feel free to let me know. Please hurry.

We must all make sure that our "Don't Panic" towels are at the ready!

What's the "keep calm and *** ". Reference about? I keep seeing it here and there but don't know why it has started...

Jean, from under her rock

And, about the calendar, I think the chisel broke and when Fred asked Earl to get him another they were back ordered so Fred figured what the H I'll just stop here.

I think one of the times the world was supposed to end was when the clock rolled over to Jan 1, 2000 and I still had lots of checks with the "19__" preprinted on them.

The Mayans just ran into their version of the Y2K bug, but it's the Y2.012K bug.

Look at the bright side....that insipid Christmas muzak in the shopping venues will end that much sooner.....

Won't you be shocked and appalled to find that muzak is the never ending sound of eternity....

Think of it. Non-stop elevator all day, all night, for all time.

NASA actually has a phone line with Astronomers answering questions about this nonsense. People are so amazingly stupid. Embarrassing that I share a truly gigantic chunk of my genome with them.

It someone's calendar ends it does not mean it's the end of the world, it means they need a new calendar. :mad2:

I found this and used it to calm down one of our friends' college aged (28 year old college student) children, the other night.

[FONT=&quot]December 21, 2012 coincides with the end-date of the Mayan Long Count Calendar. The “Great Cycle” of the “Long Count” calendar equated to 5,125.36 years. The current Great Cycle completed on the winter solstice, December 21, 2012.

I told her the Mayan calendar cycles in some version of 5,125.36 years and starts over.

Because some probably - not - well meaning, laughably dumb, teaching assistant convinced her the end of the world is at hand, she was pretty near hysteria.

She thought she should:

1) find someone to marry before next week, so she wouldn't die a pathetic, single woman.

2) get pregnant, like yesterday, so she would know the "joys of motherhood", her words, before we all die.

3) take lots of the drugs she never - ever - tried, so she would know what that was like before dying.

4) get religion and find God, in time for next week.

My Peanuts calendar ends in a couple of weeks.
There are no more tear a page a day, pages.
I guess the world ends on December 31rst.
Charlie Brown wouldn't lie.
Would he?

Same issue with the Mayan calendar. Hah, and we think they have it bad; our world ends every year! (Seriously, damn calendar stops December 31st every single time -- this is why I always spend the 31st at Milliways).

Also, girls of chichen itza were pretty big on the tough love. The first born son of a family would typically be punished by death if he didn't live up to the tribe's standards of manhood. He would also be rewarded by being decapitated or split in half over a granite triangle if he was a local hero for anything, too. Good times.

I have decided that in honor of the end of the world I will have Knee Surgery on the 21st.

Hope I am not wasting my money!!!

Having a pile of money sitting there when the world ends would be wasting money. If you spend it first, then it becomes someone else's pile of money, and they become the person who wasted it when the world ends.

All this AC/DC talk and not a single reference to Highway to Hell with this crowd?

We are slipping. ;)

If this Mayan calendar thing turns out to be a hoax I'll have a whole bunch of last minute Christmas shopping to do.

The Mayan calendar claims to know the end of the earth is coming December 21st.

How are you preparing?

Seriously, I think they got it right this time, I mean in my life I can remember 3 times people have predicted the end of the earth. But this time they have proof.

The world is going to end tomorrow. On a Friday! Damn you Mayans, why couldn't you give us the weekend?

In which order will she do this?

You'll have Friday night to party. 6:15am-ish EST Saturday morning should be the start of the end.
