Did the NYC skyline tour yesterday in the Bravo (2K going down, 1.5K coming back) smooth day and some spectacular scenery. I vowed never to visit NYC on the ground again but it was neat going by it then coming home to rural NH.

Taughannock Falls, 215 ft tall, on the west shore of Cayuga Lake, about 10 miles north of Ithaca, NY.

I've been to the top and the bottom many times while in grad school. Only took me 35 years to get there as a pilot.

DPE asked me what the spin recovery procedures were on my check ride. That was the first time someone had ever mentioned spinning in an aircraft to me. I was able to fumble through the answer using mostly logic but somehow felt that something was missing from the ppl syllabus. 4 years later the Navy thoroughly corrected that error. To this day it was the most fun I've had in an airplane. And the most fun aircraft, come to think of it.

Really cool. I did some spins in a J3 cub with an instructor. when it came to sign the log book I asked if we could apply it to 61.183(i)(1). He said, we didn't spin it enough... how many times is enough????
