Daily Pic

Day trip down to Daytona Beach and back Saturday. Ended up being .8 away from 20 hours of flying for the week.

Look what showed up and parked itself in front of the Husky this weekend. :)
I told everyone it's a different kind of Dawg and Pony show. ;)

(car belongs to the sister of the owner of the hangar I rent)

Wow.!!! That looks really nice.!! How much is the rent.??

She wouldn't rent it to me. She barely tolerates allowing her husband to drive it. ;) :D

Oh, you mean the hangar? I have a pretty good deal as I know the owner and he wants someone he trusts in the space. I rent half of it for the Dawg at $270/month. Insulated, heated, well lit, lots of space, we could get 3 airplanes in there, but the owner doesn't want that. Probably the lowest cost rent on the airport. The owner uses the other half for an E-AB project he's working on. He also has a share in an RV-7. That's in his partner's hangar. We've both got well stocked tool boxes, so between us nothing is lacking. And it's nice when either of us needs a second set of hands for something.

In my continuing saga of landing every public airport in the state, took the girls to Percival Springs, 2T2, south of Effingham, Il. Privately owned 2000' grass strip, with a hill about 300' from one end, so call it 1700, and big trees about 1/2 mile in each direction. It was a challenge for a guy who trained at a Charlie airport with an 8000' runway. Food was good, and owner offered free camping if we wanted to camp under the wing. Got lucky that the local antique tractor club was harvesting wheat to be threshed at the fall show they do there.

When are you coming to 3MY?

New camera, new iPad mini, new editing software, and I haven't figured how to use any of it yet. I'm trying to figure out how to edit and upload a 360 degree video.
This was my last landing of the day. Actually it was last + 1. On what was supposed to be my last landing I managed to decapitate a small, fuzzy critter with the right brake line.
"Alvin and the Chipmunks" may be a duet now, or maybe they are just "The Chipmunks".
I got out, cleaned up the gore, and went around to make sure the brakes still worked.
I don't know why I bothered. It's a Cub. The brakes rarely work.
