I have decided I want to become a CFI, I am willing to do a 15-30 day ish course either in the SF Bay Area, Scottsdale, or Tacoma, WA area (All places I have residences). I have asked all the recently CFI'ed people I know where they went and none had raving reviews.
Thought it would be worth the few minutes to ask what anyone on here has done. Thoughts?

CFI is not a spoon fed certificate. IMO the instructor is there to critique your instruction, but even more importantly to make sure you don't ball it up with a right seat landing.
Right seat landings become second nature (can't really tell the difference now), but initially can be a real challenge.

You do know the CFI certificate is 10% flying and 90% knowledge?

That.

My instructor says he sees about a 50/50 split in folks who can switch seats and not really seem to have much trouble transitioning, and those who need some workouts in the "wrong" seat before they feel comfortable.

I had zero trouble switching seats in the twin. My concern (and why I'm not out practicing without him yet) is that I have hundreds of hours in my own airplane I'll use for the SE add-on, and it's more likely than less likely that I'll have some sight picture problems in the single.

Once I know for sure it's either going to require work, or not, then I can plan to practice without him on the landings and what not.

Steep turns and other maneuvers where you've built a sight picture can also be problematic with side by side seating aircraft where your parallax is going to make it feel awkward/backward/wrong angles.

After about a couple hundred hours of dual given I was pretty comfortable switching between seats
