Nav light quit working and we removed the wing tip to find the ground wire solder joint broke. Easy enough fix with soldering iron and didn't cost anything.
Until I dropped the tear drop shaped strobe lens. Yes of course it shattered into a hundred pieces.
Having trouble I think finding the right replacement. Most are oval and not tear drop shaped. OEM part is C622006-0103.
Is this Walen part # A428 correct? If so does anyone know of cheaper place to buy it.
Dang that was a costly mistake on my part.

Loos like it if you cross reference the cross reference

Your Cessna part->Aeroflash 111-0016-> Whelen A428

If you log into your free Textron account and look up the Cessna part you get this, which is the Aeroflash p/n
PMA PART NUMBER 111-0016 ALSO AVAILABLE. SUPERSEDES TO 111-0016 VENDOR P/N

Thanks for your help, I came to the same conclusion using the same X reference and was just looking for some confirmation.
FWIW The nice lady at Spruce on the phone couldn't X the cessna part number that I had. She kept giving me the whelen oval lens.

I am really surprised with the number of conversions to LED these lens are readily available used. Probably shops stashing them back.

. Yeah, the Walen A428 is the right cross-reference for that Cessna tear drop lens. But it’s not cheap anywhere Walen, Aircraft Spruce, Chief, all around $80-$100. Cheaper option? Try salvage yards or call a small repair shop for a used one. Otherwise, you’re stuck paying full price. Happens to the best of us.
Thanks for the post. I found a used one on ebay that I received today for $60. verses 140-167 bucks new from whelen. Crazy.

I don't know if any of the dealers have much leeway with the Whelen pricing, but try Gallagher Aviation. Odds are that bulb is not on his website, but he can get it for you.
