    What a POS.
    I need the part number for a Cessna Cardinal C-177 baggage compartment door latch spring.
    I do not have a IPC for the cardinal, this is the only spring in the latch assembly.

    Why not look into an owner-produced part to replace the spring. Spring tools are rather cheap. ;)

    I used that e-bay spring in my R182 with success. Going on two years now with no issues.

    Sure some of them are, of various quality. The service letters, bulletins, and SIDS are harder to come by via a Google search and worth the “cost” of the free Textron online account/login, in my opinion.

    Supposedly an ar-15 trigger / hammer spring fits with some frustration. You can get a few from a gun shop for a few dollars or order online.

    I know, I couldn't resist. I sure thought it made sense for an A&P (and anyone else that may read the forums) to have access to free technical content straight from the manufacturer. Sadly I put way too much thought into potential further replies.
