Oh it's on! $5.01, seller pays shipping.

@Adam Adam in case you cannot tell, almost timed out engines, which are not supported by the manufacturer for which multiple special parts are required, likely do not have much of a market.

This is the best offer (to the seller) so far on this thread. No shipping cost.

While that may be true, remember that per the RoC, comments on the value of the products or services advertised for sale aren't allowed. These engines could potentially have value to someone building an experimental who wanted to put a Centurion engine in, or take a similar Mercedes diesel (which the Centurions were based on) and try to attach the gearbox.

The guy's selling something, let's cut out the banter.

@Adam Adam I would suggest putting a location of the engines in your ad, though. That would help people to determine interest.

Also stated in the ROC items for sale must include a price. The OP violated that one fer sure.

That was going to be my response to Ted also...

He's right though, the banter for the sake of banter is BS.

Good point to both of you. I consider "Make offer" to be sufficient in lieu of a price. In that regard, making a low-ball offer isn't out of line, but to me making offers that are obviously banter/commentary on the value of the product is out of line. Offering $1 with free shipping on an engine is not a serious offer. And the OP provided contact info with which to make offers.

To me the requirement for a price is to avoid the "Call for price" that many put in ads. That drives me nuts and I don't like responding to those people.

ROC doesn’t say “call for price prohibited”. Make offer is either a desire to run an auction or an ignorant position of not knowing the value but wanting to somehow get maximum value. Either way discussion is invited by the poster. If folks want to discuss value hangar talk is fine. My opinion is don’t come fishing in for sale where guidelines seem to be open to personal interpretation by mods.

I'll disagree on that. To me "Make Offer" means "I just want it gone, give me a number that's reasonable." But your mileage may vary.

Keep in mind that the RoC do change, and yes there is interpretation that goes on (like with any other rule). They also change over time. The rule regarding commentary on the value of the item for sale was put in because we were seeing frequent classified ads that went into pages of people criticizing the price asked. So to that end, we'll discuss whether another change of the RoC is warranted.

Will you crate and ship? Can you provide the serial numbers?
