I started up with Big Brother Big Sister this year. Took my little flying yesterday. It was his first time in a small plane, he's 13, and he loved it. He flew most of the time, and barely said a word as he was totally focused and into it. Usually when people are that quiet, it is because they are about to throw up, so I had to keep checking that he was good, but all was well.

Hopefully I got him infected with the flying bug. It gave me something to work towards when I was his age. Just not sure how the heck young people can afford lessons anymore at ~$200 an hour. Was about $65 and hour for a plane and instructor when I started in '96.

I've done a lot of Young Eagle flights. Some kids are chatty and some are quiet..

I've taken my "little" flying also and put him in the left seat. We both enjoyed it thoroughly.

I worry about addicting any youngsters at today's prices. I wonder if I'm setting them up for a lifetime of being broke. Ha.
