Hi everyone.

I looked at the Form 8700-2 and noticed some Errors, see below.

In addition when you try to print selected pages, like 8-9, in Adobe 10.1.16, Win7 Pro 64, an error gets generated if you try to enter any text in the form. Any one else noticed any issues?
You can print it in Mozilla if you want / need.

FAA form 8700-2 Instructions ERRORS.

Basic Med Section 2.

19. w. HISTORY OF NON-TRAFFIC CONVICTIONS
Does Not exist
Should be 18.w

20. VISITS TO HEALTH PROFESSIONAL WITHIN LAST 3 YEARS: ..
Does Not exist, should be removed, is / should be 19.

That assumes you read the instructions. We're pilots, after all. :-)

I printed that thing out earlier today and will fill it out by hand. Just have to dig out my last 8700 and away I go. Need to call the doctor and make an appointment for a physical next month. Very convenient having my current class 3 expire the end of May.

That's government for you, why do something right the first time for a normal cost when you can do it two or three times for even more?

What does 19 have to do with your personal health (that your PCP needs to know in order to assess your fitness to fly? Isn't that already on the MedExpress form?

Yes it is on the 8500-8 form. But as @Brad Z has shared many times, they pulled the exam form from an older 8500-8 form because they had to start with something. Therefore question 19 carried over to the BasicMed form.

you know what they want on the form - read instructions? Why get confused.

Incompetence.

Hehe, not that we didn't expect certain level of trouble from a brand new system that's trying to fix what ain't broke. :)
Maybe not broken for you. I went from needing a bunch of mostly unnecessary tests and waiting months for the faa to come through every single year in order to renew my SI to getting a 4 year sign-off from my regular doctor during my annual physical.

I just got my medical about two months ago.
I found it funny that the Examiner referred anything that I disclosed, to my physician for verification.
Thought to myself, what's the point of this guy if my doctor has to be the one to prove to the FAA that I'm fit?
And I have to pay him to do this every 2 years? Complete waste of my time and money in my opinion...when my physician has all the knowledge to start with and is involved anyway.
as a side note, we are down to 1 examiner within a 90min-2hr radius, and he is 93 years old and could not finish my exam without taking a break. He did blood pressure, eye test, reflexes and had to sit down.
After that he read my disclosures and told me to get documentation from my doctor that I was ok. I left, got it, faxed it in. They signed off. Charged me an extra $20 for "paperwork" because they had to handle the fax.
the end.
