ATC Communication Problems? m/w Mad citation Pilot vs ATC

His attitude was the least of his transgressions. What appears to be his inability to fit into the IFR system and fly a standard RNAV instrument approach without extra assistance from ATC could be the justification for consideration of a possible 709 ride.

I only listened to the tape once a couple of nights ago so I may be mistaken, but it seems things went sideways when this guy realized he wasn't' going to fly the ILS. Maybe he, or the aircraft, was not prepared or equipped for an RNAV approach? If that's the case a 709 ride could be a beneficial learning experience.
He asked for the RNAV to Rwy11, ATC would not issue the RNAV approach clearance because it interfered with traffic at KLAX. He was originally told to expect traffic to the east side of the field for left turns over lower terrain to Rwy 11. The controller then vectored him west of the field, over slightly higher terrain, and the tight right base to clear KLAX traffic would mean a steep descent which he did not want to do and attempt to be "stabilized" at 1000ft AGL.

Which caused the pilot's boohoo, I'm flying a Citation V and deserve special treatment.

ATC can refuse to approve approach requests if they cause airspace overlap, violate separation procedures, or otherwise interfere with safety and the operations at a nearby airport. Temper tantrums can't change that.
