On a Cessna 152, pilot side firewall. In looking at all the exploded view in the parts and service manual, I am not seeing this pictured or listed. I open it up at it appears to be junction box of some sort, no fuses, shunts, relays,etc.... Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

At one point in the '70s and '80s, the DEA was slipping covert transponders onto planes suspected of being in the drug trade.

What is connected to the box?

At first I thought it may part of the chemtrail dispenser... but then I looked and the plane didn't have one. :p But is does have a cloaking device.....

That us what I am trying to figure out, but the wiring is intertwined and hard to tell where is is coming from, but I do know that one does go through the firewall.

I have a tattoo on my upper arm of a Buck Rogers spacecraft, taken from the mission patch for one of my programs. When I show it, people sometimes ask, "What do you have on the other arm?"

I lift up the sleeve to show blank skin. "A Klingon Bird of Prey....."

Easy enough. Cut the wires, and if the DEA calls and tells you to hook them up, you know what it was.....

Could be a BellSouth phone connection. Are you dragging a wire?

Do you have an external power plug receptacle installed?
Where do the large wires go to?

Yes... One large coming off the bottom goes to through the firewall, the other back to somewhere in the main relay area... I need to cut the cable ties to sort it out. Here is the parts diagram from Cessna manual 1985 revision

I’m guessing a relay was installed at some point with something connected to the panel to turn it on. That large cable looks like it can pull some amps, and might go to the battery? It will be interesting to hear what’s in the tail needing that much juice. Or if like my plane - nothing, as whatever it was is long gone.

Happened to me. I was flying a Cessna 404 on a scheduled cargo run. Took the plane into a 100 hour inspection and they found the transponder mounted in the tail.

Marker and tail beacon?

Is it possibly a shunt for your ammeter, or even a fusible link in your starter circuit? I've never seen either installed under a plastic cover that looks like something from 1950s era Bell Telephone. But, the 2 heavy gauge wires and one smaller one is suggestive of possibly something like that.

I’ve seen those before on the Radar scope. Don’t remember the code it squawked, it was 12 something I think. It would be offset from actual position by a few miles. Controllers were not supposed to call that target as traffic.

Same. I still know the squawk, had to manually program an alert for it every shift for most of 12 years.
