Another FedEx Package Journey thru the system.

My package made it back to San Francisco today. Let's see if the folks there have figured out where Mountain View is. It shouldn't be that hard, since Google is based here!

any bets on it going here:

Mountain View, California
Mountain View, Alaska
Mountain View, Arkansas.
Mountain View, Colorado.
Mountain View, Georgia.
Mountain View, Hawaii.
Mountainview, New Jersey
Mountain View, Missouri.
Mountain View, North Carolina.
Mountain View, Oklahoma.
Mountain View, Oregon.
Mountain View, Texas
Mountain View, Virginia
Mountain View, Washington

<grin>

Well, it's been to Massachusetts, Florida, and Colorado, but of those, only Colorado is on that list.

However, I'm pleased to report that it arrived at the Mountain View, CA post office at 5:30 this morning, after a journey of 14 days from Santa Ana. They could have walked it here in half that time!

If it makes anyone feel any better, a package I ordered was accepted by the post office in Englewood, TX, on October 24. It’s still there.

Update on my UPS shipment…not nearly as humorous as the USPS one. Not humorous at all, in fact.

Tracking history for a USPS ground package from St. Paul to Texas: it's taking the great triangle route.

I particularly liked when they drove it through Chicago to Indy, then turned around and took it back to Chicago. Hopefully it goes to St. Louis next so it can make a complete circle around me.

Some things never change! I had to return some E-Z Passes to Staten Island, NY from western MA. I'm glad I packed them in their faraday pouches before mailing them last Monday, or else they'd have been racking up the tolls all week.

I'm particularly impressed with the post office's ability move items between Springfield, Albany, Brooklyn, and Staten Island in a matter of just a few minutes. o_O

It would be interesting to pack air tags and see where packages really go.

I had an order once coming from Las Vegas. It got about halfway across the country toward me (Virginia) then suddenly got scanned in Honolulu. It came back to the west coast and worked it's way to me. The shipper and I were having a laugh watching its progress.

That sounds about right... Two weeks ago I mailed a letter from an Albany post office to a PO Box at another post office in Albany, certified mail. It took 5 days and went to Hartford CT in between.

From NYC to Albany? My favorite was an RPS shipment that took about 10 days. Knowing them, I'm lucky I didn't have that shipped now or it would be shot down over UAE.

FWIW, Henry Hudson made the trip from NYC to Albany in about 7 days in 1609, with crew that was probably drunk. Of course there weren't any computers back then, so that was an efficiency boost.

Pretty soon you won't need to... came across this flying out of Lisbon a few weeks back when they put two tags on my checked bag, one with the bar code, and one blank one. When I asked what it was the gate agent let me know... pretty slick, or is it big brother?

Patience. It hasn't even left CONUS yet.

My folks in Texas tried to send a package to me in Georgia. It went to Puerto Rico!
