American teenage pilot meets with consequences of own actions

I think this was a six person raft, and it had a sort of extension down into the water that you were supposed to use as a ladder. But you still had to pull yourself out of the water, and it seemed most did not have enough upper body strength, even with a foot on the ladder. Of course, the raft tipped toward them, making it even harder.
We did large and small rafts.

We parasailed then climbing into the big raft. I am thinking 9 person. Last parasail was the cut away and we deployed the one man raft. Then had to blow it up and get in.

But also, when I went through only fighter/attack/recon and ANG/AFRES did Biscayne Bay. TTB did theirs in a pool at Fairchild.

We had the same issue in our companies water training.
That said, those who were able to get into the raft were able to pull up those who were not.
Everyone eventually got into the raft.
Until you are the only person. Hard to help yourself into the raft.

Also, most people seem to fly with the exposure suit partially off. If you don't get it on and sealed in time, you get water inside and survival time is a LOT shorter. Or if you tear it.

The story finally hit the BBC BBC Article
I'm confused:

"An American teenager has been detained on an Antarctic island, creating a major delay in his attempt to fly his small plane to every continent . . . ."

"Ethan Guo has flown his Cessna aircraft to all the other six continents . . . ."

So how has his attempt been delayed if he'd previously visited six continents and he's now on the seventh?

Has he flown “to” North America on this trip?

Can't work up the nerve to go across lake Michigan. Glad it's not just me
Lake Michigan is significantly less survivable than crossing to the Bahamas. I have a "lake protocol" that I follow religiously... And I have flown the Mooney to the Bahamas as well (Freeport and then Long Island).

did crock and johson do that "work" pro bono?

is crock and johnson a new term for AI?

Do they realize they just burned his medical certificate with the BS they wrote in the last paragraph?

Sorry, I don’t feel for the kid or his medical.

If the law firm is misrepresenting their client to the public, that’s a different problem than if the kid has been diagnosed and then self-certifies fitness to fly with a condition known to be deferring.

Launching (or wandering) into night IMC and icing makes me question the ADM, too.

Trying to pull a "Wrong Way Corrigan"? "I didn't mean to fly across the Atlantic; I was heading to California but misread my compass!"

If he can save his medical, the plane is no issue. The goal was for Guo to make the flights. Simply buying another plane and continuing from Ushuaia, for example, would do the trick.

We already see that raising money for international legal defense was easily done, although one versed in aviation issues might have had a better long term value.

WhatsApp works in Antarctica? And I thought Hillary revealed that those messages disappeared automatically, never to be seen again?

Crock and Jobson have miraculous powers for creating a defense.
