Alternator with Lower Cut-in RPM

Saw this in an article today. I wonder how they do that.......

To me the key is the Magnetic Field is developed by using System Voltage hence it can be quite high even at low RPMs.

The Generator is self activating so Field Current drops off at
Low speeds.

That would be a function of the regulator energizing the field. What company is promoting this?

Not enough info, but are you sure they are not comparing their alternator to a generator?
