Always check the NOTAMs before planning a flight. Pres. Trump is coming to North Dakota this week and Air Force One will be landing at KBIS. However...

!BIS 07/039 (KBIS A2621/17) BIS RWY 13/31 SE 2494 CLSD EXC TAX. DECLARED DIST: RWY 13 TORA 6300FT TODA 6300FT ASDA 6300FT LDA 6300FT. RWY 31 TORA 6300FT TODA 6300FT ASDA 6300FT LDA 6300FT. 1707161915-1709160500

I'm assuming that AF1 doesn't travel light. Maybe they'll come in with minimum fuel, but how well does a loaded 747 perform on 6,300 feet? Who else wants to fly in early that day and enjoy the free FBO popcorn and the show?

Do the words "bat outa h*ll" mean anything? During election season, AF1 comes into Buckley AFB (5500 MSL). Altho 14/32 is 11,000 ft, there's a cable across at one end, which means landing past that point. Only allowed to land on 32 and takeoff on 14, even if it's the AF1 except under extremely severe weather.

I've pulled over to watch takeoffs - no problemo. More fun to listen on the radio - the helicopters are in the air for 30 min before and after TO. Never bothered to watch the landings.

They might use the 757 for the trip. When POTUS 44 visited KPDX a few years ago he came in the 747, and left the next day in the 757, as his next stop was Rapid City.

While I was lined up for takeoff from Palo Alto's 2443 foot runway in X-Plane, I was amused to see a 747 taxiing for takeoff, so I pulled off the runway to watch what would happen. It was amusing to see it continue the takeoff roll right off the end of the runway, kicking up a lot of dust before lifting off!

In reality there's no dust to kick up off the end of the runway, but rather a swampy/boggy area.

Easy peasy. Just add a STOL kit:

I got an email from AOPA this morning about this TFR. Normally I don't get any, may be it's related to because it's close to me, or may b3 because I created a flight plan on the I app last friday... donno

Or do they equal each other out? I was told there would be no math involved here.

On topic operationally I would imagine they would bring the 757.
I hope they use E6B to calculate...

Runway 3-21 is 6600', we needed it for TO about a month or so earlier this summer.

I got an email too. I think they sent it to all AOPA members in the state. I have never flight planned using AOPA's stuff.
