I’ve been following 8Flight and I’m really looking forward to giving it a try. Matt has been great on BeechTalk, answering all sorts of questions from users. I haven’t seen a thread about those who’ve actually used it, so why not start one here? New features are always coming out, but in the meantime, how have you guys found it?

I did sign up for a year to check it out. I'm still using FF as my go to app, but 8Flight has good potential. FF's new owners may be problematic, so it's good to have an alternate all ready to go. I'll have internet in my plane going forward and this might be more advantageous for 8Flight than FF. We'll see. I too do like the responsiveness on BeechTalk.

I took a trial look when it first came out. I wasn’t that excited. Since I’m an EFB geek (I’ve tried most every EFB available for the US market for iOS, android, and windows). I’ll probably look again when it’s matured. But right now, subscribing strikes me as paying to be a beta tester.

Just as a point of information, if you are used to connecting to a Garmin panel for location and ADS-B in data, this won’t. Nor will ForeFlight-only portables like Sentry. You would need a more universal ADS-B portable.

Can anyone confirm if FAA IFR charts are included? Are they geo-mapped so your own-ship displays your position relative to the chart like GP and FF does?

Confirm. Confirm.

At this point, I don’t think there is an EFB app in existence in the US market that doesn’t have georeferenced FAA approach charts.

I work for SkyDemon (a pretty mature planning/navigation app), and while we tend to be more focused on Europe, raw FAA data is pretty good so we just drop it in. Recently we added some TFR data for our pilots who do flying holidays in the US, and I would be really interested to hear from a US based EFB geek about how our work might be perceived by native US pilots, whether there might be "feature gaps" we could work on, etc. Any chance I could convince you to take a look at the free trial and let me know your thoughts?

I have heard of SkyDemon and would love to have a reason to look at it. PM me. I assume you want some direct contact for feedback.

I don't seem to have the option of opening a PM to you... Possibly I am too new to this forum?

If you can PM me to start the conversation that would be great; or you can email me directly on rob(at)skydemon.aero if that's easier - either way I can usually reply quite quickly during normal UK business hours
