172 Hijacked for activism

Tip Tanks already covered so much of this “hijacking” but here’s a pretty in-depth story from a news report in Canada. The US scrambled F-15s as they were the closest but still didn’t arrive before the incident was over. Very thorough story though.

And now on to the Air India report that the captain turned off the fuel to the engines on purpose 3 seconds after takeoff, On Purpose!
More sadness and time to potentially look more into mental illness, depression?
Yep. He was overhead for around 30 minutes... he could have done whatever he wanted. He made one good decision to land and take the punishment.

Hah maybe this would explain why there was like 0 factor VFR traffic headed to/from YYJ while we were headed back to NUW yesterday afternoon on VFR flight following. Seemed awfully strange for this time of year/current weather......normally there are a million planes crossing the straits, not just Kenmore, and I've got my radar on a short range scale with a very specific altitude scan to try and find them early and often (so "traffic 10 o clock, your altitude" isn't a surprise when whidbey approach calls it out starting at no more than 3 miles.

So let me get this straight to protest climate change you do things that burn fossil fuel unnecessarily? Brilliant, just brilliant.
Maybe he was protesting "chemtrails" and the newer climate modification conspiracy theories.
