Trying to gauge interest and a possible price...

Hell, I'd rather have someone brutally honest than sugarcoat something. Makes things wayyy easier in the long run. The way I see it, you can't get offended or upset when you put your work out there asking people to critique it. That defeats the purpose of critiquing. The lens Henning posted is...

Trying to gauge interest and a possible price...

I was actually thinking about heading to the local airport to take some shots of some of the aircraft on the field (with the owners permission of course). DeKalb Airport even has a few P-51 mustangs that are airworthy, and everyone who flies out of there are great people. As of now, I'm way too...

Haha ya know, some times you gotta jerry rig stuff to save a buck. It may not be the prettiest thing in the world, but whatever works! Thanks again for all the help man! You've been a tremendous wealth of information.

Haha you read my mind, I was literally about to ask what type of lens you'd recommend for the Nikon.

Trying to gauge interest and a possible price...

Yeah, my family member just bought a d1000 so she sold me her d500 and 4 different lenses for a great deal(200 bucks) I also just listed the canvas on Etsy to see if any chumps are stupid enough to pay the $75 price(considering the fact I saw blurry "abstract" 20x30 prints being sold for $200...

Trying to gauge interest and a possible price...

Yeah, I just bought a Nikon d500 for fairly cheap from a family member and the market I was mostly aiming for was the parents of the student pilots at my university as we already sell apparel that a portion of the profits go to the Aviation Management Society. But honestly thanks for all this...

At wholesale price from a professional canvas service, the print cost 35.99 to print, and then 15 to ship. 70-80 is making a 20-30 dollar profit. The canvas print isn't just a poster, it's a canvas wrap mounted to a wooden frame. The retail price of getting your own canvas done not via...

Trying to gauge interest and a possible price...

Hey y'all, I recently printed a few canvas prints of some aviation pictures I took to put on my wall, and a few of my buddies told my I should consider selling them as a way to earn a few extra flight hours here or there. Here's an example of one of them. It's 20 inches by 30 inches but I...

    Say position...

I mean, the controllers here know the area very well and almost expect we do as well. They'll commonly request we report "over the red water tower" or "over the tape plant". They'll also tell us pattern instructions referencing specific roads such as "enter midfield downwind for 36, remain east...

    Why professional pilots suck

It seems here your inability to get a job in aviation has a lot to do with your attitude. Too lazy to do pre-hire testing but yet complain about not being able to get a job. Gee, I wonder why?:dunno:

How do you determine what a "safe" overweight condition is?

He's just trying to ask questions that we all had as students. Only difference is that I was smart enough to ask someone who wouldn't call me an idiot for simple curiosity.

Student pilot landing at OSH during show? Allowed?

Re: Student Solo at Airventure Just because you legally CAN do something doesn't mean you should. For example, a newly minted PPL can legally fly into KORD without any special training or minimum hour requirement. Is this a good idea? Absolutely not. KORD's taxiways alone cause confusion for...

    Car vs Airplane debate.

Wake turbulence is only an issue when a much larger aircraft takes off or lands in front of you.

    Worst Flight

Worst flight had to have been what started out to be a normal training flight. I took off out of KMDH and it was a windy and gusty day but nothing I wasn't used to. I went out and did maneuvers for 1.3 and headed back to the airport. I was cleared to land on 18R and just as I began my flare the...

Fight School price Sheet...too expensive or to good to be true?

This. I'm a firm believer in the crappier aircraft you can do you privates in, the better pilot you'll be for it. I did my training in a 77 Cessna 152 with original avionics, and it made me that much better of a pilot as I had to do everything the old fashioned way with no technology to help me out.

    Vfr Flight plans

I don't think you are at all. Hell, in a congested area FF is probably the better idea. That way a controller will immediately know if you drop off radar etc and won't wait until you're overdue to start looking for you. Also, if it helps, I attend SIU carbondale and our flight program is...

    Adderall

I was prescribed Adderall all throughout middle school and up until Sophmore year of high school when I stopped taking it. In order to get my medical when I was a Freshman in college, I had to do 17 psychological tests with a board approved psychiatrist and I had to bear the cost. It sucks, but...

    Ever Check into Drone Flying?

According to this, they do need to be? It's rather vague though, so that may just be industry standard and not FAA regs. http://www.aviationschoolsonline.com/faqs/uav-pilot-license.php

Places around KPWK for a hundred dollar hamburger?

Hi, I'd like to find a good place to go for a hundred dollar hamburger within an hour flight time of KPWK. Anyone have any recommendations?

Why is http://aviationweather.gov/ not an official source of weather info according to the FAA?
