    A&P schools

I’m thinking about going back to school to get my A&P license. I need some advice on what route to take. What is the best school? Is school even necessary? Should I just learn on the job? What is the industry looking like right now?

    A&P alternative to flying

Hey all I was disqualified for a medical due to a head injury as a baby (hydrocephalus). With that came ADHD. I know if I were to take the Cogscreen I don’t think I would pass up to pilot standards, but is there a test somewhere of cognitive abilities of other aviation professionals? I’m just...

    A&P school cost

    Color vision correction

I went to the eye doctor to see if color correction contacts work for me. To my surprise, went from not being able to see any of the ishihara color plates, to being able to see all 10. It was Awesome. But I’m curious, why are color vision correction contacts disqualifying to the FAA? I can...

    Free or reduced CogScreen

I thought I read somewhere on this forum that the CogScreen is periodically updated with pilots at Sun and Fun and Oshkosh. If I went to either event, took the CogScreen as a free data point for the researchers, would I be able to see my results?

    Denial Database

I know there is a database where we can look up pilot info IF THE PILOT HAS BEEN ACTUALLY ISSUED A MEDICAL https://amsrvs.registry.faa.gov/airmeninquiry/Main.aspx but what about the database that shows the FAA that we have been denied a medical? is that only accessible by AMEs

    ADHD flight training

For the CFIs on the board. How many hours does it take to tell if a student “gets it.” Or how would you tell a student to take up another hobby? the FAA denies ADHD, if Cogscreen says a person is below the 16th (or is it 18th?) percentile, so what mistakes would a hypothetical pilot at the 15th...

    Seizures

Im curious about the procedure for renewal after seizures I found this form online https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/avs/offices/aam/ame/guide/media/airmanseizurequestionnaire.pdf My question is: why would the FAA want to know specifics about type of seizures and a...
