    Forget the Cirrus Jet...

I am absolutely amazed with this company (if the news is correct) The epic Velocity, a 5 place VLJ, has gone from paper to flying prototype in less than 6 months. If that is true, I am absolutely amazed. Anyway, it will be an experimental class product while sales underwrite the...

Any suggestions on where to go skiing?

Thanks for the suggestions guys- I am based out of Atlanta, and would love to fly out west for a trip.

Any suggestions on where to go skiing?

I'd like to fly my wife and another couple out skiing this winter, somewhere in CO probably. Can anyone make a suggestion on where to go, that is, somewhere that is GA friendly and easy to get to, with good runs?

    Elevator trim for take off

If I followed my POH, my CHT's would be around 420 degrees F each :)

Which is safer- a twin piston or a single turbine?

The turbine bonanza's range (on 114 gallons) is ~1100nm's, much more range than the A36.

Which is safer- a twin piston or a single turbine?

Ah, what an open ended question :) I am debating between a turbine bonanza A36 or a 58 baron. Safety is paramount, especially after experiencing piston failures in the past. I do not like the extra fuel burn associated with the baron, nor the extra cost of maintaining two engines...

What are the regs w/ Canadian built experimental a/c...

I just received an email from Epic in regards to this whole issue. Here is the response... I understand you call yourself “not mechanically inclined” and you do not have the time to build an airplane, but there are ways to complete the aircraft. Our sister company offers a Canadian...

What are the regs w/ Canadian built experimental a/c...

I have always wondered why a company like Epic or Lancair could not "sell" the kit to an independent contracted builder, have him construct the airplane, title it to an LLC, then "sell" it back to lancair to sell as a used experimental. Looking at the epic site, it appears as if the victory has...

What are the regs w/ Canadian built experimental a/c...

Just curious if, under Canadian flight rules, the Epic Victory http://www.epicaircraft.com/Victory.html can be built by the company and sold to the consumer in the states. I love the victory, but absolutely do not want to build it myself. I guess I could buy it used in 10 years :)

    Just returned from NYC...

Trying to remember- I think it was ELW, SPA, a bunch of different ammendments around DC, SBJ, blah blah. I filed for 9,000- was dropped to 6 around DC.

    Just returned from NYC...

I flew the bonanza nonstop to NYC, KCDW. The airport worked great, business went well, and the flight was easy. 4hrs 2 mins (my bladder was hurting). Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions on where to land!

    I want one of these!!

Everything I have heard has been second hand- so I cannot claim firsthand experience. I think there is a lot of truth to the fact that the accident rate is due to pilot inexperience and/or training. Thinking that the airplane will behave as a cessna 182 is deadly. That being said, I have...

    I want one of these!!

The accident rate is very high in the IV-P- the wing stalls around 80 knots and takes at least 10,000 feet to recover (with a test pilot!) cool airplane (jet) nonetheless.

Around the world in an F33A bonanza...

This is pretty cool- these guys are currently in Berlin after having flown their bonanza from Greenville. Thought I'd pass this site along- http://freedomflight.info/en/index.php If this inspires anyone, my bonanza (just like the one these guys are flying) is currently for sale ;-)

Lets see if this helps, I'm sure I'm forgetting something 91' F33A Bonanza, 1400TT 500hrs since new pistons/jugs (that was fun, paying for that right after I bought her) 07' new paint/interior Gami Injectors JPI Engine monitor Shadin fuel flow GNS 430 King coms KFC-150 autopilot Skywatch (once...

Ugh, the speed bug hasn't stopped. Now the escape bug has hit...

Is it bad that I am researching a lancair propjet, even though I know of the horrendous safety record? Also, I am itching to go to Europe, which, if I do, I might as well go round the world solo :) Now, what airplane should I buy? (I swear, this has nothing to do with the fact that I got...

Whats the deal with flap gap seals?

Just wondering if anyone has first hand, before and after, experiences with flap gap seals. If I can gain 6-8knots for 500$, I am all over it. Also, there was a company called Smith Speed Conversions that I keep hearing about from fellow bonanza owners/old timers. The claim is that this...

    Broken plane....

Ouch, sorry to hear. I just flew from LZU in the bonanza, aside from the direct 23 knots of gusting crosswind, slight windsheer, and 96 degree temps, it was a great day to fly. :)
