    Instrument approaches to grass strips?

On my "bucket list" (maybe not very glamorous) is to fly an instrument approach in IMC conditions to a grass strip. A bit of searching around the Northeast finds only one: 08N, Keller Bros in PA. I could hack something up from FAA databases, but maybe some other crazy soul has done this?

    American Helicopter Museum (KOQN) pireps?

Another trip I'm thinking about since they're open again is the American Helicopter Museum at Brandywine (OQN). Anyone been there recently?

Any pireps on N74 (Penn's Cave)?

I'm thinking of a trip to N74 soon (Penn's Cave). There is a cave which sounds pretty cool (you tour it in a boat). The family is not much into caves so it seems a perfect by-air adventure. Anyone been there? Any pireps on the airport or cave? (I'll be flying my Archer, so the airport seems...

Best route: Flying in to NorCal area from the East?

Hi Folks- After my very successful cross-country flight from Boston to Los Angeles last summer (photos), I'm hoping to move my daughter to Berkeley for school in the fall by Cherokee (coronavirus willing). Looking for some route advice. Would like to stop in Casper, WY, so mainly concerned...

Pirep on Garsa Air (Flabob) or other nearby shop

Hi Folks- I'm expecting to need an oil change on my Archer in mid-June during a big trip from the East coast to CA and back. Planning to base at RIR (Flabob) while in the area. I know Garsa used to run the DC-3s out of flabob but their website has disappeared. Are they still in business...

Los Angeles visit RIR, BUR pireps

My plans are converging for crossing the country from Boston to LA in June. Thinking about staying in LA area for 3-4 days and catching some sights. Tentative plan is to base at RIR (Flabob) since it looks like a nice airport and the hotels nearby aren't too expensive. Many things we want to...

Anyone have a Pirep on Bill's BBQ at Vineland/Downstown 28N?

I've been out a few times since it thawed to get back in the swing of things, and now I'm looking for a destination. And when you live in Boston flying a mere 242 nm for some decent BBQ seems okay! Anyone have a pirep on the grass strip and more importantly the BBQ?

Transcontinental by Archer (Boston to LA)

Planning a summer trip in my Archer from Boston round trip to LA, stopping both ways in Madison, WI to pick up a co-pilot. Thinking of a northerly outbound route (I90 to around Rapid City, over to Casper, WY and then down between the mountain ranges to Flagstaff, AZ) with a Grand Canyon tour...

Any recent pireps on 8B2 (Twin Mountain)?

Anyone flown in to 8B2 (Twin Mountain, NH) in the last year or so? I used to fly in pretty regularly to go hiking, but in 2015 the trees were so tall I gave up. No recent info on Airnav or AOPA sites.

Boston Tall Ships 2017 aerial view

So the Tall Ships will be in Boston starting this Saturday, from June 17-22. I'd like to try to avoid the crowds and get a view from the air. I don't see any NOTAMs or TFRs posted yet. The best bet for staying clear of the bravo seems to me to start around Marblehead and fly a BOS 9DME arc at...

Trip report: Hudson River, Long Island, Bayport Aerodrome

Just a quick trip report... Yesterday we flew in our PA28 from Bedford down the Hudson, East along the south shore of Long Island, landed at Bayport (23N) and then back to Bedford. What a great flight! Started in KBED, stopped for fuel at KDXR, then joined the Hudson near Sing Sing. Flew...

Funny dotted routes on Canada VNC charts?

Plotting a flight into Canada. I've been perusing the VNC charts on fltplan. I see a lot of dotted blue routes with diamond symbols which look like they might be suggested VFR routes. I don't have a paper chart with the legend to check. Anyone know what they are? Example below
