    Wish I had this CFI

It's not how big the pattern is, but how you handle the stick!!

    Wish I had this CFI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6q2VKsvQEQ Even though I'm not a pilot and I'm just learning, this guy comes across as a very competent and fun CFI to fly with. The kind of guy I want to learn how to fly from. P.s. Love the stripes...lol

    Private Pilot Reimbursement

I'm going to play devils advocate a bit. I see it interrupted as it is for two reasons. The first reason is imagine I have 3 sales people that need to go to a conference, normally we don't send an IT guy but we have an IT guy that happens to be a pilot and have a plane. So we allow him to...

I'm certainly not ruling out the possibility of sport and who knows, in the years that come, the FAA may pull that disqualification. As it sits, I wonder about finding an LSA that would fit me, or finding a school around me that has LSAs I can try. My thinking is if I'm limited to...

    ADHD Diagnosis?

TY, I will ask. I appreciate the help.

    Intro Thread

Sadly I wasn't joking, I've always had it and it has never stopped me from accomplishing anything from military service to being a volunteer firemen. What I don't see is how it can be disqualifying. It's hard to hear my drams are over before I even got started. :mad2::(

    ADHD Diagnosis?

Actually now that we are on the topic of ADD/ADHD, I never thought this could affect my ability to get a class III medical and obtain my PPL. Can taking meds for ADD really mess that up?

    ADHD Diagnosis?

Actually I do have ADD and one thing you'll find is this ability you are actually talking about called hyper-focusing. I've used it to achieve many things and I'd bet you do have it and have basically harnessed your ADD to your advantage.

    Planes the movie

I have every intention of seeing it and taking my two sons and my daughter to it. My son has been absolutely in love with Cars since he saw both movies. I'm hoping the same passions for airplanes comes with watching Planes.

    Korean TV gets even...

That is great, honestly I don't see either as raicist. From what it looks like the Korean media didn't take it personally and poked fun back. this is the way the world should work. poke a little fun, have a good laugh, be able to laugh at yourself, and the world would be a better place...

How far would you drive to join a good flying club?

I'm about an hour west of KMSN in Montfort, WI. I figured as I started to learn to fly I'd do it out of KMSN. I'm starting to think at $180/mo there is going to be no way I'm going to be able to afford to fly. That is about my entire budget for everything when I start taking lessons. Sadly...

    Oshkosh picture thread

That Delta wing N71AW is my kind of craft. That in a single seater looks like the type of thing I'd buy and fly.

Impertinent to Call a Weather Briefer for a Fictional Flight?

Ahh but by using the telephone briefing, you are technically keeping a briefer employed. :)

    Intro Thread

Another thing that got me wanting to fly was video I saw a couple years ago on the PAL-V. I remember thinking to myself, this could be a huge leap forward for GA. I've been hooked since. I own some land out in Rural WI, I have enough to launch a PAL-V easily. Fly it to KC29, fold up, and...

2013, So who is going ?

I wondered why the increase in traffic today. I noticed more planes than normal today, that could be it. But then again I'm in the SW corner of the state so I'm not so sure they were all headed to Oshkosh or just taking in the perfect weather. Alas, I will not be able to make it this year...

HEHE it's funny you mention this, I was actually just checking my 2m HAM mobile rig in my truck to see if it would monitor 120Mhz. Sadly it only goes as low as 138 I believe, but it's good for 2m and public safety bands. I'm a big fan of listening to what's going on. I figure the more I...

I live in Montfort, (Southwest corner of the state) and I work on Junction road in Madison. (West side) I'm also 6'9" 300lb so I'm sure I'm not getting into a 152, but I've been told the 172's are surprisingly roomy. If not I know Wisconsin Aviation has Pipers, but that all just adds to the...

    Intro Thread

When I was a child I had amblyopia. While my eyes track straight most of the time now, my 3d vision is not the best so neither is my ability to judge distances. I'm also very left eye dominant. Also I didn't mean checkride, I meant discovery flight. Though I might do one of those anyway...

I thought I'd start by by introducing myself quick. I am a 31yo, former Marine, volunteer fireman, Network Engineer. I had the chance to take lessons when I was stationed at Quantico and didn't take the offer and I've regretted it since. After that I got married and had 4 kids. My career...
