Aspen and EA100… The good, bad, and ugly?

I was thinking in the Aspen setup menu there are adjustments for panel roll and tilt. When these are adjusted you see the actual output for the planes attitude above. If you have measure the exact attitude along the pilot side rivets per the leveling points with a digital gauge then adjusting...

Aspen and EA100… The good, bad, and ugly?

Can you not measure panel tilt/roll without leveling so that it indicates true tilt as measured on the spar and leveling rivets on the pilots side, and then adjust the Aspen panel tilt setting in the PFD setup and then re-do the RSM calibration for that?

    Value of KS 270 servo?

ebay. But what model #? I could use one for a spare (edit- specific model # for the servos- my pitch servo is a 065-0059-03; roll is 065-0060-001)

    Final out on N928JP

Also- this accident highlights the dangers of obstacles around airports that may only be known to locals. I looked today and the only identifiable call out for this obstacle is in a user comment on Foreflight. Minimal comment in Remarks section and buried within a lot of other remarks about...

    Final out on N928JP

Does Gem plant have some Civil liability here for failing to adhere to the FAA mitigation study by not painting the stacks as required?

Fatal - Fort Pierce, FL KFPR

ADSb track has the look of a Vmc rollover? Maybe right engine decided not to cooperate when they pushed up power for the go around?

    Aspen EA100 TAS Measurement Covariance

Anyone know what this is? Aspen tech note TN2010-10 mentions that Min Alpha TAS/Alt and Max Alpha TAS/Alt may need adjustment to correct pitch lag. That is done via EA100 config program. However they mention if this is done, you should adjust TAS Measurement Covariance to 25. I have seen other...

Bendixking AeroFlight (KI 300) and AeroCruze (KFC 230)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but wondering if there has been any updates on KFC230? I have a KFC150 that is causing issues. With OH servos costing $2-3k each and OH computer for $4-7k I would be mostly there going KFC230. But I have an Aspen PFD/MFD through the ACU100 controlling the KFC150...

    Cheapest Twin on EBay Down

I think there’s a lot of lessons that we can learn from this. All of us can be complacent in preflight or in a rush at times, or agitated and distracted by others. In addition, despite plenty of hours in the make and model of airplane, his skills were not up to the task of flying on a single...

    Cheapest Twin on EBay Down

My POH checklist says to put fuel in crossfeed prior to takeoff to check flow and exercise the valves. But I moved that task to my after landing checklist on the taxi in to specifically avoid this possibility.

    Cheapest Twin on EBay Down

Would it run long enough on the fuel in the line to make it to takeoff if the selector was off? On mine I can't even get it started with it off. More likely, he turned it off as part of the shutdown feather sequence if one engine went toes up. But I have heard of props that seemed fine on ground...

    Putting CamGuard to the Test

I looked into the chemistry as much as I could with limited available information on ingredients. Best I can tell, what it is doing is buffering organic acids produced by incomplete combustion. These acids I would think are part of the corrosion process. So makes sense for me for less frequently...

How to use a technically grounded PA34?

I would talk to these guys- https://baspartsales.com/ They're the experts in salvage jobs and may be willing to purchase it for parts, or at least discuss what to do with it. Hate to see a Seneca go to waste though, I think its a great airframe. Depending on model, after new engines it would...

Beechcraft Baron 55 down in Leyden MA, triple fatal

I wondered based on flight path if this was a power off stall, where on recovery, one engine stumbled while the other made full power. Seems like that is a recipe for spin entry? Most multi training flights don’t go direct to Vmc demo after steep turns. Usually a power off and maybe power on...

HIMS AME told me to not report

Curious- how would you address a "diagnosis" that was incorrectly put in your chart by a physician? You and I both know we physicians (and lets not even start on PA, NPs) will often list a presumptive diagnosis to get a lab or imaging study approved. There isn't a way on Medexpress to put "this...
