Aspen EA100 TAS Measurement Covariance

Anyone know what this is? Aspen tech note TN2010-10 mentions that Min Alpha TAS/Alt and Max Alpha TAS/Alt may need adjustment to correct pitch lag. That is done via EA100 config program. However they mention if this is done, you should adjust TAS Measurement Covariance to 25. I have seen other forum posts suggesting adjustment of this to 100 to correct pitch "pumping". There is a way to set Min/Max Alpha TAS/Alt in the EA100 config but there isn't a TAS Measurement Covariance setting anywhere. Asking as we are having issues with pitch porpoising and trying to figure out if someone prior to my ownership had changed this setting without documentation.
