Aircraft Painter Recomendations for Composite Plane in San Diego/So Cal

I need an aileron and wingtip repainted on a DA40 and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation of who to use or not use in the San Diego/Southern CA area. Kyle

    Cabin Led Lights

I got the part number out of the part catalog from Diamond seeing it is for a DA-40. I don't recall the exact part number but it was also listed on the diamond forum and I purchased the bulbs from bulbtown.com . These are overhead reading lights in the plane not flood lights for the...

    Cabin Led Lights

I tried but the housing unit the bulb sits in is part fot he problem as they were not made well and work intermittently.

    Cabin Led Lights

I was wondering if anyone has tried using something like this in their plane. I have a nice area overhead that I could stick one or two of these and I'm thinking they would do a much nicer job then what I currently have...

MT Composite 3 Blade Ding Repair?

MT said it was purely cosmetic and could be dressed up with epoxy which is what I had done. I viewed a few other composite props on the field and a few of them that had over 2K hours on the prop all had a few epoxy repairs done on them.

MT Composite 3 Blade Ding Repair?

Well hopefully I will talk to MT and find out the tolerances and what needs to be done today. Once I hear back I will post a followup as to what they say. I checked the diamond forums but no posts dealt with this specifically. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

MT Composite 3 Blade Ding Repair?

One of my DA-40s got a ding in the prop today on the leading metal edge. I'm wondering if anyone knows what MTs repair procedure and tolerance levels are on this. I"m guessing they will require the leading metal edge to be removed and replaced but not sure who can do that and what the...

    These planes?

    1) You may need a new insurance agent because that is far from what I've seen. When I priced insurance on the DA40 it was about 1200 a year with 2 million smooth liability and a 200K hull value. It is safer then a C172 as far as actuaries go. 2) An autogoas STC is not very relevant unless...

    These planes?

Knowing where in the country you live would be helpful as well as there might be more economical options as well as other factors that come into play. For example if you can rent a DA40 in your area you would get about 72 hours of flight time for the year for what you would pay in taxes...

    These planes?

If you are going to non glass and like the 430 setup then I'd lean towards a 2003 DA40 as they can be found for around 100K you will also burn less GPH then the two planes you mentioned. Your acquisition cost is only part of the pricing you should be considering. Keep in mind the operating...

    These planes?

Sure, the earliest plane with glass would be a 2005 and currently there are only 2 for sale in all of north america from what I can tell. One of which is most likely a scam (the one out of Texas) as it has been listed for a very long time and with very little information, and is priced...

    These planes?

I own 2 DA-40s, and am obviously biased. One thing you didn't mention is what part of the country do you live in? I ask this because the plane could be very uncomfortable in certain climates such as Texas where the heat will really make flying it half the year miserable. The heater in the...

    Starting out with owner maintenance

Steve, I would recommend in the following order to start and go from there with all initial work supervised the first time. 1) oil change 2) oil change with 50 hour inspection (cleaning, rotating and gaping spark plugs if required, checking water levels in battery if required, inspecting...

Things/Sayings You Hate Hearing On The Radio!

Actually "searching" is a word and is appropriate in this context. With that said I agree that I don't like it either. search noun : an attempt to find someone or something : the act or process of looking for someone or something : an attempt to find information in a database, network...
