I last demonstrated the use of an E6B on my Private checkride in 2010. Haven't touched it since... don't really know how to use it to be honest. I look at forecasted winds aloft while on the ground and my groundspeed on the GPS. Before I had GPS, I just wondered and guessed. :)

I guess my question is... how come nothing gets built in America anymore? So there's a hangar shortage--why can't they build? Same with roads, bridges, etc.

Yes. If you went long on anything since 2009 till about 2013, it would be hard to look like anything but a hero. The stock market has been rocky as of late but valuations are still quite high compared to 2009-2013. Wish I knew what the future holds.

It would be cool if this system could be added to say, a Lycoming IO-360 and also remove the conventional starter motor, starter battery, and alternator from the airplane. The extra 40hp electric boost for takeoff and climb would be nice to have on tap. Especially at high altitude airports. :D

Well, they already screwed over their profession by making it a two-tiered system that pays newcomers poverty-level wages. No surprise that they screwed over General Aviation as well.

Honestly... fltplan is garbage, buggy, and slow. Avare is free because the author wants it to be. It is constantly being updated and improved.

I use the Nexus 7 (2013) with Avare for VFR flight and I have used it for IFR dual instruction. If I was buying now I would get the Nexus 9, I kinda wish I had a larger screen for approach plates.

Scholler is definitely a different vibe than the N40. I feel the N40 is more relaxed and you know everyone around you is a pilot. I'd be a little more careful about leaving out expensive electronics out charging and whatnot in Scholler. My Scholler camping strategy is to be as far away from...
