Garmin 430 (non-WAAS) data card swap?

Hello, I have a Garmin 430 (non-WAAS) as my 2nd NAV/COMM. My primary is a 430W that I keep current with the latest database from Garmin but I'm reaching out to see if anyone would be willing to swap out GNS430 cards with a recently updated database? I don't really care if it is expired but...

    Bahamas for Spring Break?

Thanks so much Kevin. I love your videos. Your recent series made me want to go to the Bahamas even more. If you are ever on the other side of Lake Michigan and want to get together let me know.

    Bahamas for Spring Break?

I'm sure there are multiple threads on this but a quick search didn't uncover any recent ones so I thought I'd ask the question. I'd like to fly the family to the Bahamas soon. We've been talking about it for years but we always end up somewhere in Florida on Spring Break. We like to have a...

    Garmin G500 AHRS Failure

I was wondering the same thing and asked my shop this. It sounds like there is an issue with re-certification that if we use something in my plane as a loaner then it would need to be re-certified by Garmin if it wasn't the issue and needed to be replaced. I don't mind trying replacement parts...

    Garmin G500 AHRS Failure

I'm going to post this on a few forums as I'm trying to find ideas on what could be the issue. I'm having an issue in my Saratoga that just after rotation I get an ATTITUDE FAIL message. My shop checked all connections and there weren't any issues. The suggested I capture video of the LRU...

Hole in my Air Conditioner Compressor

Thanks, the Piper part number is 55-412. I want to make sure to get the correct one. Any recommendations on where I could get help cross-referencing the part number to the York? There is a 12-5516 stamped on the compressor as well.

Hole in my Air Conditioner Compressor

I own a 1981 Piper Turbo Saratoga (PA32R) and I just got back from a trip and had the shop take the plane in for an oil change. I got a call less than an hour later and my A&P said there were parts of my A/C compressor all over the lower cowling and a hole in the compressor (see the picture)...

    FS: Garmin 296/396/496 accessories

While cleaning out my closet I found some accessories that someone else may want as I don't need them anymore. 1) AC Charger for Garmin 296/396/496 (7244A). Sells on Sporty's for $39.95. Asking $10. 2) Garmin 296/396/496 cigarette light adaptor (7088A). Sells on Sporty's for $23.30. Asking...

Time for Tire Change on a Saratoga?

What is the standard time to replace a tire and tube on a PA32R? I had my local shop replace a main landing gear and the nose gear tire and was charged 7 hours of labor. Seems a little steep to me.

    WrightPatterson AF museum

This is by far the best aviation museum I've ever been to. I haven't been to the Udvar-Hazy center yet though which looks excellent as well. 3 years ago my son and I flew to Dayton and we parked the plane at KMGY-Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport. We were able to get a rental car there and it is...

    New to Western Michigan

Hello everyone, I am in the process of moving to Western Michigan and wanted to reach out to find other pilots in the area to network, maintain instrument currency and have fun. I'm an instrument rated private pilot with about 900 hours and own a 1981 Turbo Piper Saratoga that is currently...
