Cartersville, GA (KVPC), has a fairly large group of ULs. Nothing like seeing a gaggle (their version of a formation) do a mid-field break to the downwind.
My wife's a big UGA fan - I've been known to point out that Ole Miss differs from UGA in recruiting efforts. Ole Miss doesn't recruit from the county jail.
That, as you might understand, doesn't go over very well.
:D
I had a valve lifter self destruct over the middle of Lake Michigan coming back from Osh about 5 years ago.
Nothing exciting - lost about 5 knots of airspeed.
Read Mike Busch's article in EAA magazine (about 4 or 5 months ago) regarding oil. It's either burned, pumped overboard or leaked into engine compartment.
He discusses each in detail.
I have a '63 172 with an O-300. After about 2,000 hours behind that engine, I'll repeat what everyone else says. Smooth but not overly powerful.
A very reliable engine.
I sat thru the Administrator's briefing at Osh on July 31st. What a pile of crap. Excuses for everything (medical, 100LL, part 23, etc.) . A smirking politician that won't do anything until forced.
It was obvious that both Pelton and Baker (EAA and AOPA) were doing nothing to push for GA...
Hate to break everyone's heart, but beef and diary are the same. It's COWS!!
Now there are some breeds of cow that are better for dairy (Jersey), but they taste good. Others (Angus) are better for use as beef, but they do give milk also.
<Sigh> city folks!! </Sigh>
